It's so wonderful to learn from you; you're so encouraging, explain processes well, and share the logic of why you're doing what you're doing! Thank you so much for sharing. 💜

EXCELLENT VIDEO Fantastic Filming and Editing too What (little) cameras were you using? GoPro? Thank you for sharing this video.
This Home has same colors and siding as my home ! I also have a porch similar in size ( not enclosed ) with acid stain concrete, and I hate it !! Wont hold sealer . Wish you were closer to Iowa !! Great job Guys as always , perfect workmanship 👍👍

I think it looks beautiful. I’m not confident to do this myself
You buy good an efficient equipment. A higher psi rated pressure washer is great paired with high gallons per minute is how fast you can cover an area. The only downfall is if the water supply cannot keep up with the demand (then you need a water tank and a pump) Thanks for the instructions.
Thxs. Great job
"disaster bucket" ....brilliant!
Excellent job! I want this exact look on my new garage floor...will this product work on surface where cars will be parked? If not, what product would you recommend? Thank you!
great vid! did you dilute the stain or the sealer?

Lovely work my friend! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with the general public,I will be using it on my current build project I have going on. Question,part of my project is a shop for working on my old cars,is there any concrete paint/sealer that could stand up to a floor jack rolling around with a car on it without peeling up and chipping under the weight of it’s steel wheels? I have seen this happen in mechanics shops in the past.

Stained concrete wouldn’t be a great idea for your situation. It sounds like you need something more like urethane cement or epoxy + polyaspartic.
Great Job once again! Thank you for your attention to detail as a contractor and as an artist in what you do. Even your KZread content and the attention you pay to details on your content and the organization. Like'r and subscriber PART 2: I bought a house with an outdoor inground pool (Midwest- 4 weather seasons) The pool is surrounded by a 3' basic concrete apron, and then a stamped concrete patio along a part of the apron. ISSUES: the 3' apron has shifted/sank/lifted in multiple places, and the stamped patio had been painted a brick red at some point. I want to fix all of this, and enjoy learning and doing my own work. Do you have any suggestions for how to address these issues to give the apron and stamped patio a chance at new life, without busting everything out? Grinding & overlay..... chemical etch & staining with some patched concrete resurfacing work on the apron...? Looking for some ideas/advice from you or anyone willing to comment. Thanks all!

Hey Anthony. Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately I think your best bet is to tear out the concrete and replace it. We’ve never had much success improving a slab that has bad cracks and also needs to be leveled. It sounds like you might be able to keep the stamped patio though.
I’m going with a black, gray, and white combination to get a sort of marbling look. Do you have any recommendations for a method and tools to use to accomplish this? Using a water based sealer as well and plan to roll it on.
Nice video. What kind of brush did you use?
Beautiful
Very timely video. Attempting a home project like this soon. Did you have to change out your roller when back rolling the first coat of sealer?
@TimDCVA
2 жыл бұрын
Cool. I don’t really understand the question… but…we only used one roller each for the first coat. We threw out the rollers after the first coat and had a new one ready for the second coat, but we didn’t end up using it.
Looks great but I wonder about filling cracks.
What kind of broom do you use and what type of sprayer? Our sprayers so often drip from the applicator end as we’re working.
This several years old, so you might not be responding to comments. My patio is very large, which I love, but it was obviously poured at different Because I have three different colors of concrete. So I was consisting painting it, when I saw this. The color and everything would work great on my patio.But I wonder what would happen with the different colors of concrete
Hi, could I use this technique for a pool deck, adding some texture? Can I do any color I want? Thanks,
Have you guys tried to use a swissmex acetone sprayer to spray the water base stain? Makes it really easy you can put pressure with a compressor up to 36-40 psi. I’ve also used the microfiber pad circular application 👍. Great work looks awesome 👏
@TimDCVA
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I actually have a swissmex sprayer somewhere. I didn’t realize you could hook it to a compressor though. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍🏻👍🏻 I didn’t plan on spraying stain on this job or I would have used a nicer sprayer. We decided to do it at the last minute and ended up going to lowes to get a sprayer. 🤦🏻♂️
Why don’t you acid wash before you acid stain ? The reason I ask is because when I painted my pergola, I used iclean and etching from rust oleum to clean the spilt stain and now I want to acid stain it. 🤦♂️
What is on the shoes to be able to walk on the fresh stain and sealer?
Turned out nice! I'm with you- so sick of seeing that darker grey or cola stain everywhere; this lighter color is much more attractive. Building my own house on slab in 2 years and will be using light colors. I had a concrete business in the 1980's in Madison Wisconsin. I was the only contractor doing stamped and colored concrete. My ex-wife ruined it for me- don't let that happen to you.

Where do you get the spiked sandals? Handy
Thank you for sharing your videos. They are very informative. I have a similar project that I am looking to undertake and like the idea of using semi-transparent stain. Curious why you chose to use a water-based stain rather than a solvent-based stain on this project? Perhaps mistakenly, I've assumed a solvent-based stain would be more durable especially for areas exposed to weather elements. Thanks and I look forward to your response.
@TimDCVA
Жыл бұрын
👍🏻👍🏻 I only like to use solvent based sealer outside… and solvent based sealer reacts with the solvent based stains which can move the color around. Water based stains hold up really well as long as the surface is prepped/rough.

In Amazon. Cheaper
Wow watered down paint that probably costs a lot. Easy to make myself. Nice 👍
I love concrete floors wanting to do my home floors like that. Where can I find the products you used?
@ozarklanding

We’re doing ours using products from direct colors
No neutralizer amonia to keep the color
What shoes are you wearing?
I’ve done a lot of acid staining, does this product require water rinsing to neutralize the stain?
@TimDCVA

No it doesn’t. It requires more prep than acid stain though.
Can I ask how much this project cost the homeowner from start to finish?
Can this work on travertine or Saltillo floors in my kitchen and dining area? I’m not sure which one I have.

Yes you can once the concrete is cured.
I grinded my floor but some areas had tile and have ghosting grids. Will the acid wash remove these or will they show through the water based stain?
@TimDCVA

It will most likely show through no matter what you do.
did you add grit to your spray sealer as well?
@TimDCVA

No. Just the first coat.
At 4:17 there is a view of a huge crack in your concrete... Keep spraying... 😀
when you mention acid, are you referring to muriatic acid?
@TimDCVA

You can use muriatic… but I prefer H&C phosphoric etching solution.
Hi tim how r u? Is it okay to apply liquid wax on the tiles and seal after? Thanks

Can I acid stain leveling underlayment?
@TimDCVA

Not usually. I think they are too soft. You need a self leveling overlay that is made to be stainable.
Why “ never acid wash “ if we will be acid staining?
@TimDCVA
8 ай бұрын
Acid washing as prep negatively affects the ability for acid stain to react to the concrete and create the color.

Why don't you fill in the cracks first so they don't show through?

Cracks always show through in semi-transparent stains. Filling actually makes them look worse because it highlights the cracks.

I work in the field of epoxy floor paint
Seems to me that this method is a hell of a lot more complicated than just painting concrete, it certainly not making things easier. How many times do you have to apply the stain? Forget about it!
