DONT GO LEFT - Bedrock Rapid @ Grand Canyon - Aug 2022

I shot this footage on Aug 27, 2022. National Park Service reported an incident of a flipped motorboat on Sep 10, 2022. 1 fatality has been confirmed.
Our guide took us through this rapid backward on a J-RIG & made it look effortless.

Went left on an oar rig a couple years ago, it's no joke and the guides know it. Can't imagine one of these big gurls getting left at Bedrock.

Ironically i was on the raft that flipped that day. The guides you have are the guides that pulled the remaining raft to safety. Everyone on that trip offered the ones whose luggage was lost anything that they could. Conditions were unbelievable day as it had down-poured all morning. I swam for my life with a dislocated shoulder, torn rotator cuff, broken elbow, and dislocated elbow. The guides are all phenomenal and I wouldn’t wish that anyone had to swim bedrock

A trip you will never forget, I'm glad your here and telling stories about it. Someone once said The closer you get to death - The closer you get to life as a hard core rock climber / river runner I can confirm it's validity..

@@SegoMan That's all really great and cool, but if you have children to care for, best to avoid the bravado until they reach adulthood :)

@@jimmoses6617 You better stay out of the bathroom as that is where most accidents happen in the house.. We won't even mention driving in the cities..

@@tired7140 To each his own, what I learned rock climbing made my construction work safer.. Fall harness's and other height associated safety gear was not always out there.. Look at the bright side you and Jo have something (warm) in common..

What kind of boat is that? Is it motorized or something? Seems to move so easily! Well done.

Can I take a guess at the full name for $50? Maybe Jerry Rig? I have some friends and relatives that do that trip and love it, not for me.@@archiveeverything3000
