Cthuhlu actually has his own SCP entry. It's SCP-2662. They write him as a teenager that doesn't actually want to be worshipped and it's really funny.

the MTFs *arent* D-Classes. they cant be PMCs either because the SCP foundation's goal is to remain as silent as possible (as in, limit the possible sources of leaks as much as possible). they are specially trained personnel that specialize in very specific conditions: some MTF units are for undercover urban interventions (they wear civilian clothing, which is probably the unit we're looking at in this film, they usually have other units to assist them depending on the nature of the anomaly they are facing), some are specialized in space-time anomalies, some in non-euclidean anomalies, some in psychic-class anomalies, etc. they all have very special gear, endemic to each units they are part of.

I would be shocked if the Foundation never uses PMCs, but they would not tell the PMCs what they are actually doing. MTF are at the opposite end of the spectrum where they know things, including being aware of just how little even they are actually told.

I correct some errors: This video is not necessarily non-canon, it has been shown that every thing or story within the SCP universe is canon, meaning this video could have occurred in the official canon because there are many universes with their own stories and most other stories make up the same one too Oh and also that the MTF risk their lives for this guy, this mission is very important otherwise without knowing it the world would end in literally 1 day later in the worst case xd

The canon is like schrodinger's cat, in a state of non-canon and canon but also you can't open the box.

One of the coolest parts of SCP Lore, in fact one of the few consistent parts that could even be considered canon to every timeline, is that their own database is intentionally filled with false information and fake articles to obscure the real ones. You never know if the thing you are reading about actually happened or is a distraction intentionally misleading you. These articles can be loosely grouped into timelines and canons that are consistent with each other, but in every case the database is kept in this state of perpetual ambiguity.

In many articles, the higher ups have different names - Overseers, Overwatch, Administrator. This is probably just the author's choice, but I rationalise it different versions of the Foundation. There are also different ways of naming the addendums.

@@ivanpetrov5255 The three terms you reference are very specific and separate entities. They don't necessarily coexist in the same canonical space, but they are not mutually exclusive. Overseers is the O5 council. I have never seen that not be the case. O5 members are overseers and overseers are people with O5 clearance. The composition of their membership varies from canon to canon, but there is always an O5 council. Overwatch is the one I am least familiar with, but if memory serves it is a specialized department in charge of monitoring all Foundation Sites and has the power to remotely trigger the on site nuclear warhead remotely if events require that and on site staff fail to do so, though I am very fuzzy on this one, so I could be completely wrong. Administrator is by far the most special of these terms, but very much has a specific and consistent meaning. It refers to a figure that does not exist in all canons, but where he does exist he is the original leader who created the Foundation itself. He is the one who saw the need for the Foundation to exist and he is the one who gathered the other founding members to make it happen. He rarely gets involved in Foundation business in modern times, but when he does show up it's because something HUGE is going down. He casually borrows and deposits SCP objects in and out of Foundation custody seemingly at a whim, but when he gets serious it gets crazy. In one case his appearance heralded the elimination and replacement of all 13 members of the O5 Council in one bloody massacre. I would not be surprised if there were some inconsistent usages of various term with either one term meaning 2 or more different things or multiple authors using different terms to refer to the same thing, but the moderators on the wiki have gone to great lengths to eliminate things like that.

As for the Administrator, he was mentioned sometimes, but it felt too sporadic/author dependant. It's been a long time since I've actually *read* articles - I might be unintentionally making shit up/misremembering what I've read. I tend to treat all articles in the wiki as "possibly happened, but not in our timeline" - this way you can gloss over any inconsistencies between authors 😅

In general each author builds their own canon with all their articles being interconnected and consistent within that version of the Foundation reality. The existence or not of the Administrator is part of one of those canons(though I believe several others have adopted it as well). Your "not in our timeline" view is pretty much perfect, though there is the secondary possibility that the article does exist on this version of the database, but is an intentional fabrication. I would not be surprised if those inconsistencies were in the early articles. It was very patchwork and uncontrolled at the beginning. The more recent history of the site has seen a LOT of effort to rewrite old stuff to be consistent in a lot of ways(including efforts to remove outside and copywrite protected intellectual property at the expense of some of the more iconic SCP imagery).

Another possible use of the gas mask could be as a delivery system for aerosol chemicals - nestics, painkillers, or something else, as they often come in contact with memetic hazards.

They did mention the cult has a history with nerve gas, maybe they're high confidence it's one that has to be absorbed through the lungs.

The big smoke was actually so they could see the invisible enemy as they displace the smoke when moving through it. The not shooting the guy on the ceiling and using gas was to gather info on what could affect these things since they are obviously not human anymore. And the endless corridors are in SCP Dollhouse which is also pretty good. Also a buried eldritch old god is only keter class at worst usually. Hell SCP-2662 is basically a young version of Cthulu that was only Euclid class for a while. And yeah its a cornerstone of the SCP universe that the articles end with the SCP unexplained because they are in the end unexplainable. Not something to that can be understood with regular physics but something to be Secured, Contained, and Protected so it doesn't break the veil. Also do not get into the Backrooms stuff. It started out as a good simple story of unending liminal spaces you could stumble into with a feeling like something is in there with you, and then people just kept adding random shit to it without any kind of quality control or moderation and it just became a clusterfuck of memes and bad ideas that make no sense. Basically the Backrooms is the version of the SCP wiki where they had no moderators to remove articles. Go watch the Down The Rabbit Hole video on the SCP Foundation to see how it nearly went down the same route.

I do agree with how the backrooms has certainly been... substantially influenced by the internet, but I don't agree with how she should take a look at some of the good videos and games. Sure a lot of it HAS been pretty thoroughly filled with cringe but it doesn't change that there ARE some pretty good spin offs and fan made content about it. There is actually a classification level that takes the place off the usual safe/euclid/keter called "EXPLAINED" for things that used to be considered an anomaly, but now just fall within the scope of normal science.

Also can't for get about the Disruption class (which is basically how disruptive it or wide spread it's affects can be) and the Risk class (which is basically how significant and dangerous the SCP is)!

@@EndLooker-el8jn The expanded classification always annoyed me because I 100% get that it would make sense with the lore that a large scale organization like this is gonna want more detail in its classification system, but the classes that existed before the expansion had so much effort put into building up the weight of the word so we remember them. What does KETER mean? The word didn't have a real meaning, but once you know it suddenly has TONS of meaning. The expansion added half a dozen new terms with none of that weight behind any of them.

@@grantharriman284 Yeah, I will say this though the symbols for the second class, Disruption class, and Risk Class meanings ARE pretty cool. It does unfortunately mean SCP is more complicated now, but I do like that it's at least consistent. Also, the diamond shaped classifying template for SCP's is pretty tight not going to lie.

When pender was reaching for the gun he could have easily curled into a ball above the gun and mtf would be on top of him with pender still able to grab the pistol and shoot someone or he could have a knife on him self to stab someone. It was just safer to shoot pender than try to dogpile him.

This mtf isn’t wearing uniforms because it’s supposed to be the Epsilon-6 unit, called “the village Idiots”, they are wearing civilian clothes because part of their specialty means that if something goes wrong they can shed their gear and scatter, blending with the surrounding population and escaping without drawing suspicion from anyone. Different mtfs have different specialties, like another group mentioned near the beginning while talking about the hole, saying that “the mole rats should have fun with that one” in reference to Zeta-9, who’s specialty is subterranean ops. Mtf specialties range from their preferred environment, to their preferred opposition, to their preferred situation, whether it be taking back control after a breach, or tracking down persons of interest. Also, AK fam!!!!!!

If your captivated and want something with more substance than I could direct you to another great short film they did that I think you'd love! It's called SCP Dollhouse and it's really well made with a lot more... potency in the horror and anomalousness. Also a little thing I wanted to clarify is that the Foundation isn't out to destroy anomalies their moto is Secure. Contain. Protect. Hence why (at least for non anomalous entities) they didn't really shoot first or only shot when there was imminent danger. Also the reason they didn't have a "uniform" so to speak was because the SCP foundation is a secret organization and can't really parade their colors or logo around (unless when it's to people or places they can easily control or be confident in discretion. I hope you continue to look into SCP stuff it's a really interesting and well developed fictional universe I hope you continue to react to. Lots of MTFs use masks even if not needed for the fact hides their face for most part allowing them to not be known. While these here are meant to be the "Village idiots" MTF so their street clothes at same time are so they can easily sneak away, remove gear and blend in if needed. But even if there's not any need for full on gear, it's used either way for as said "hides, allows to be not known etc," for when needed they can easier blend into the crowd as on top of everything else their faces aren't known. Plus I guess allows them to remain as unknown as possible from the other groups of interest, GoC, Serpents Hand, Chaos Insurgency, etc. So less of a chance they can use their identity against them trying to gain SCP information or etc from them. But this movie here doesn't contain an actual written SCP so nothing is truly known about what's happening beyond this short film. But consistent lore and consistent canon is weird in SCP but that's what happens when you get something that is created by tons of random people who make up things :). Even some of the set canons like Class of '76 canon, can be very very confusing and weird as not really much is explained still leaving tons open to "ideas, predictions, thoughts, etc" leaving tons of "open canon" that will never be completed. And on top of uncompleted canon, not all is accepted but ones that are by enough usually are the ones left on the wiki sites and even then they still aren't accepted by everyone. But end of death, broken masquerade, apotheosis are some of the mostly accepted canons. And in my mind 3 of the best runs of stuff as they are quite interesting. But SCP is great and well worth the going deep into it :). As SCP 5000 (good to know if you plan to or play SCP 5K game as based on that), SCP 1730 are a couple good ones. And well SCP 999 as well he's just a cute little slime :D.

1 2 3 4 is a very common override for electronic locks, most people never disable the overrides cause they're overconfident with their fancy lock.

In the "put a fire grip on it" shot, or looks like he's using an armalite or the equivalent marksman rifle. I am but putting a foregrip on that. AK makes sense. This armalite is clearly used for long distance shots (misused in this video) therefore a foregrip will just get in the way

Also MTF doesn't really wear uniforms very often so that they aren't recognizable. The secondary point of a uniform is to stand out from other militaries.

I have that patch on one of my blouses SCP MTFs have varying levels of uniformity due to their levels of security clearance, their lengths of unit existence, and their individual status'. Some will be more informal than others, some will be tightly uniform, some will look like gathering of amateur paranormal investigators except with better equipment, and some will look like PMCs. Basically, the MTF internal culture determines everything. This MTF looks like several security personnel from various sites and units brought together for this one mission, but who've worked together before. Judging from their speech and their relative naivety, they aren't a formal team with any specialization.

For someone supposedly familiar with cinematography and media, she seems incredibly inept at maintaining the flow of the video. She seems more interested in cracking barely relevant jokes and injecting info about herself even thou nobody asked.

Look up Operator Drewski, he has a video that goes through pretty much everything that went into making this film and it’s reliable because he was actually in this film

100% those are NOT real helicopters. The model of bird sort of gives it away. Those are UH-60s, they're (relatively) expensive to run and there are basically none in private civilian hands. Companies and larger organizations do run those but alot of them are for SAR and firefighting etc, and they're not in the mostly slick military configuration. Also, depending on how clandestine the op is super sneaky special bois don't have to dress to regular military standard so the lax level of uniform is perfectly acceptable even among real world units. Also, the lack of attachment on the bottom of that rifle isn't unusual, I've seen lots of dudes just mag well grip their rifles after about 10 minutes of movement lmao. All the important bits are there; IR/visual laser module/illuminator holographic optic with a night vision mode (Eotechs generally have those unless you get a green reticle model afaik) and magnifier. Their CQB is pretty spot on. That hallway is pretty fuckin' gnarly in that respect, so many angles and doorways for a limited team so moving fast as possible to get an initial clear is pretty pivotal and that's exactly what they did. I highly recommend watching OperatorDrewski's video on the behind the scenes so you can see them work with their military consultant.

I'm liking and subscribing, even though I literally have a migraine from the talking over -really important exposition- (not always bad, but excessive). I don't mind suffering to hear another film school buddy try to explain what the cinematography is doing as they see it, but honestly, take your time pausing and getting it out. @@criseist9786 Yeah exactly, that's what i meant. I already watched overlord like 3 times and i was curious what Makari has to say watching it... meanwhile i watch the video and i see the creator is talking over the video and people in it, totally ignoring the concept of "reaction" video.
