Thanks, Timestampers are youtube's MVPs! My personal fave is working out, but I only discovered him 5 days ago on spotify. ...That Mr. Experience cover shot of his face with no shirt on, hairy shoulders, I couldn't help but wonder who he was, I checked it out as a joke. After listening to his hits, I was immediately hooked. Nobody dares to venture back to the 80s or disco era type music anymore, so it was a pleasant surprise

Dude is an incredible funk bass player and lead singer - a rare combo because it’s so challenging

Gotta say his singing is pretty weak live. Props for being honest live, ergo no playback and no ton of technique on his voice, but vocalwise he really is a studio person. Instrumentalwise he and the band did a solid job!

His heart travels far indeed.

It’s been almost 2 years since I found out Donny’s music. Now it reminds me of the times of my previous and precious idle and peaceful life here in Ukraine. Was supposed to visit his concert last summer in Europe but it is what it is. Hope to see you one day, mr. experience

He was randomly recommended to me on KZread - Konichiwa - in December and I'm hooked man. Girl of my Dreams is such a good wee tune. Bought Mr Experience on vinyl and haven't had it off the platter. I'm a heavy metal guy as well.

Mix one part Har Mar Superstar, one part R Stevie Moore, one part Ron Jeremy and mix liberally with the 80s episode of Yacht Rock... You get a nice fresh serving of Donny Benét! You know, the very first time I saw one of his videos, I knew that he must be the bass player because the bass lines were so sick. The whole thing tis just a showcase for his bass playing!

This guy is awesome. It's like he's a parody of bad 80s disco towards the end of its era, BUT its somewhat fantastic & cool at the same time. But Donny's right, slap bass IS the sound the kids want to hear 👍

For a live event the sound mixing is AWESOME! Great dynamics and each instrument comes through very clear...

Can I just point out how hard it is to play those busy basslines and sing at the same time? Most ppl have trouble just remembering all the words. Sheesh...

I've been on this planet for nearing 40 years and, to this day, I've never understood it when people have said that it's the bass player that gets all the chicks. (I've always felt like it should probably be the lead guitarist, if anything.) While enjoying this fine performance -- somewhere around the mid-point of Second Dinner to be specific -- something clicked with me, and I feel like I finally understand. Thank you, Donny Benét! (For this and other things.) P.S. that's never really been his style tbh, most of his studio recordings have the vocals on the dry side too. also you don't really tend to use stereo fx live so much on vocals

Connected my iPhone 📱 to the Bluetooth of my Maserati and cruised down Pacific Coast Highway from Seal Beach to Laguna Beach blasting this video in my Harmon Kardon Soundsystem and stopped at the Beach Parking to enjoy the rest of the video and the waves of the ocean 🌊 then went to my 2nd Dinner in Laguna Beach 🏖
