Honestly Super Mario World was a bit overrated. I only played it solely because I seen someone else playthrough. God I remember getting so excited when I would progress or see a new map and wondering how the paths would play out the further I went along. My sister and I would get up and jump around out of sheer adrenaline when one of us passed a new level. That was back in the 90s and we had gotten a second hand SNES with this, Metroid (I think, it could've been Alien), a baseball game we didn't play much, and Super Mario World.
I can't believe it is 2021 and this game still holds up!
My first game ever!! Loved it, the music, the animation the jokes... and then DKC 2!!! MIND BLOWN... then I played DKC3, at first didn't liked much, but it grew on me.

such a creative way to create joyful game-mechanic´s. They took alot of the possibieties back than! The tires and canons are in still memories for 25 years.
The underwater music fills me with a sense of strange, sad, sentimentality for the simpler times of my childhood in the 90s.
6:02 this song is so amazing that it almost feels out of place in a game about monkeys. first time and last i played this i was about 5 years old. i remember being bad at it but my mom would play and i would tell her to take her time on this level so i could listen to this song. its crazy how much time has passed and yet i still remember how this song sounds
