It could just be me, but the Banjo and Panflute tikis seemed significantly less scared than the others, especially compared to the Accordion and Xylobone ones.

I think a cool touch for the tikis’ beatdowns would be sounds from their instruments. Like the gong has gong sounds and the accordion has broken sounds like it’s well, being broken.

I never liked the Tropical Freeze bosses as much as the Country Returns bosses because they never had a defeat cutscene. Seeing the boss give up and the worn out tikis rise out of them before getting demolished felt so satisfying. In TF it just fades to black and you beat ‘em up. I don’t know, just not as fun. Still two of my favorite games of all time though.

The bosses on TF aren't being possessed or anything and having the last hit on them be you just beating the crap out of them is super satisfying. Yeah it'd be cool if they had a defeat cutscene but it really doesn't take anything away from them.

@@chrange9714Death cutscenes would be great for the bosses in TF, Infact in CR the tikis escape and fly at the screen if you take to long so if TF had a death cutscene and you take to long the boss would get back up with like 1 or 2 hp left

I like that when scowl (owl) gets beat up you can see his fur poof around It's the only boss that does that nice touch Imagine the same things happening to the tikis but they're getting a bit destroyed Like pieces them are flying off

you: *possesses any boss* donkey kong player once they beat you and you're on break: *SLAPS KICKS AND PUNCHES YOU AGGRESSIVLY IN THE FACE*

The fish from TF at 1:10 tanked very well his beatdown.

It always feels so satisfying to pummel the Tikis into the atmosphere. The Tropical Freeze bosses... they're alright i guess, but it just doesn't feel the same.

Just watching this is so gosh dang SATISFYING

Does anyone know the secret in Returns where if you dont go into the punch up screen for long enough the Tiki you fought wakes up and launches itself towards the camera

I wonder if this inspired Jungle Rush in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Donkey Kong's Final Smash. Beating up the bosses in the two games and sending them into the sky is like a Star KO. Unlike the Maracas, Donkey Kong can only beat up one of the three Ba-Boom brothers.

​@@teaoftrafficcombining them would be a good idea since you can have the jungle beat beatdown for when fighters aren't at least 100% and then they could do a unique final smash outcome like how they did with joker in ssbu by making donkey Kong do a guaranteed star KO on every fighter at 100% or higher.

I love the little jingle that plays when the tikis fly away from the beating.

And I thought only Hulk and Thor could punch that hard.

It probably happens because you shake the Wii remote as soon as the sequence begins, I used to do the same mistake as a kid. You just have to wait like a second more to get Donkey Kong closer to the enemy and to make the Wii remote icon appear. (If you're playing Tropical Freeze it's the same thing)

Thanks for this! The walkthroughs I've found for tropical freeze never do the beatdown, they only do the one hit and it's so unsatisfying.

0:20 I can’t believe we got Donkey Kong Vs Banjo. Yet he was so hyped for him in Smash Bros.

Where is the link for this knock out theme.

When you think about it, there's a difference in the nature of this mini-game between the two titles: in DKCR, the bosses are animals being controlled by the Tikis. So after you beat the boss (the animal) you give the Tikis their comeuppance in this mini-game. In DKCTF, the bosses are simply bad guys, straight up, and often are difficult as hell. So the mini-game plays more like catharsis for the player after everything they just went through (while DK gets to give the baddies an extra whuppin').

Always felt like the DKCR version was so much better because the little jingle that plays is not only super catchy but is just ridiculously triumphant too. In the future they need to bring back that jingle because it’s just way better than the TF version.

I actually think it's too bad that the KO music wasn't the same in Tropical Freeze as it was in Returns and there weren't similar cutscenes of the Tropical Freeze bosses' defeats to the Returns bosses.

Tbh I think this should be used if you use it in the air and bonus points if they add the opponent being launched away on their final stock.

Mario franchise is so crazy (you could argue donkey Kong games are not mario because it was it's own franchise before 8n arcades but it's a spinoff game now)
