My first video game ever. Back in 2000, when I was 3 years old, my mum says she turned around and saw me watching her playing it when she was Lanky Kong. She offered the controller to me before briefly leaving the room. When she returned, I had somehow activated the headstand, and she just let me go from there. I don't remember this exact moment, but yeah. My first game. Second was Banjo Kazooie. It wasn't until I was 4 that I can actually remember anything though. Oh to be back in 2001 as an innocent 4 year old just aimlessly wandering around all of the Rareware game worlds...

@@mikebryse The reason Army Dillo was reused is because Rare runout of time.

I have a lot of anxiety in underwater levels due to my own fears of drowning so DK64 not having a breath meter genuinely made the game such a nice experience for me growing up. Its understated how nice it is to swim in a game without the anxiety of spooky music indicating youre drowning and possibly cause myself, too immersed, to have a panic attack 💀

I enjoyed it. Creepy Castle is also my most favorite.

I have so much nostalgia for this game that I gladly eat up any content related to it lol Great Vid! Agree with the #1 100%

The DK games, Banjo games and Conker's BFD on the SNES and N64 give me major nostalgia that I'm constantly watching any videos on them. Bless you Rare Ware.

This was our most fav game eh bro and your welcome for the get out guy lol I still can't believe you forgot about him one of Nintendos best games ever made

HOnestly Hideout Helm was a highlight of the game: LARGELY because it wasn't as tedious and meandering, and backtrack-riddled. It had fun pacing and a sense of stakes.

I love gloomy galeon and crystal caves, but I love every level in this game, so...

Had drop a like for the intro 😂

I never made it past Fungi Forest. Cool to see the other two places. I played all the time as a kid and only made it that far. Then back in 2018 i decided to try again. Got as far as i did as a kid but way more bananas and what not. But i got burnt out and now im just too lazy to hook thinks up lol. One day 🤞

Gloomy Galleon is my favorite level. It sucks that you can't kill the starfish though!

The creepy sound in Angry Aztec isn't much of a big deal, I can just exit the world taking the golden banana with me

Fungi forest is the best IMO

Overall the game was well made but I don't necessarily have a favorite level. My least favorite was Fungi Forest though. It looked nice but idk I didn't care for that day/night mechanic in the game.

Oh the reason why the re use two bosses agen is beceus the run out of time. The had planned to have a snake boss in angry aztec The model can still be found in the game files even the code for the boss stage.

This game gets too much hate. The intro alone should put it in goat tier.

I don't know who you are dude, never heard of you before now. Saw the vid and clicked because it's the kind of stuff I like, love me some DK64, but with that rap intro shut up and take my sub.

Crystal caves' golden banana objectives were complete nonsense. You either had to do something ridiculous like DK's ice maze or nothing at all like chunky's invis pad

Gloomy galleon is the worst level in donkey kong 64 by far its not even close

I was happy to watch this until the voiceover effect and DK64 rap. Sorry, I’m out.
