Actually, the reason the game needed the Expansion Pak was because the game contained a bug that randomly crashed the game, and the Pak fixes it.

A bug that got fixed by adding more ram. Regardless something in the game kept crashing cause the system didn't have enough memory. So they're technically right.

One of the best Christmas i had was when i got the dk package with the green N64. And played it on our big brand new 32 inch TV.
Heaven Help us All.... I love this commercial so much, I saw it and remember yelling, OMG I NEED THIS...
Man, marketers were paid way too much in the 90s and none of them had ANY idea how to market games.
They need to make more commercials like this, back when video game commercials were worth watching

Naminski well it makes sense now since Nintendo and universal are teaming up to make the Nintendo theme park at universal studios Orlando and Hollywood and they’re working on the animated remake on the super Mario bros movie (Hopefully they’ll do it right than 1993’s super Mario bros Movie)
Why does it seem like everything was more creative and better back then? And I KNOW it isn't just nostalgia telling me that. Everything is so bland now.

Usually most video games don’t use any elements from a cartoon show based on said video game...but not this game. I love how they incorporate the crystal coconut from the tv show in this game.
This is one of the coolest an most nostalgic things I've ever seen. I only saw this commercial once and couldn't help, but want this game. :)

If I remember correctly the average price of a newly released n64 game was 59.99, and this game was 70 instead, so they still added the cost of the expansion pack onto the bundle, it wasn't "included for free".
...the good old days. When Rare was just awesome.

One of my favorite video games for the N64! Such an awesome and creative game! I was always best at Tiny Kong! Sure, beating it took time, but it was fun! I remember during the holidays that year it came out, my brother and I got the game for Christmas and we screamed and ran around the house and immediately started playing. This game REALLY meant a lot to me! XD
This was the game that completely defined my childhood.
1. You managed to save the commercial from one of the best games ever 2. You saved it while recording the Pokemon League series. Have my children.

This commercial always cracked me up. xD I love this game. I remember how it came out the day before my birthday. That was a great b-day.
The awesome thing about this game is that it can still be considered simply massive. Seriously, they throw so many things at you at once it's almost overwhelming. I ran through it a while ago and it took me a good 25 hours just to reach the end, let alone get 100%. Few games do that nowadays.
Fun Fact: That's the Hill Valley Courthouse from Back to the Future at the beginning of the commercial.
I have this ad on a VHS tape

I remember first seeing this commercial, I was nine at the time and since I had all three Donkey Kong Country games and loved it, I begged the heck out of my dad to get it for me. I thought I did something wrong until Thanksgiving Day after we all ate, he had it in a Wal-Mart bag for me. That was the best Thanksgiving ever.

DK64 for the switch 🙏🏾
They brought in the military to stop DK? That's cute.
This commercial would not fly today lmfao
N64 must have wanted to give a LOT of surprises for all games, specially ones in the US since people started seeing a plenty of 'Never Have Seen Before' things. Like each character has their own unique way of using action commands, and has even got some face emos that will absolutely amaze us. Their commercials were SO wonderful as they had truly wanted to give us pretty much inspiration. Banana Invation - Donkey Kong 64! : )
I don't remember seeing DK64 commercial back then, but now I do.
