Y'know, I really appreciate "Smart History." Not only am I getting a great ancillary education in art, but you're also helping me expand my vocabulary. "Salacious" is my new word, meaning "lustful," "pornographic" or "crude." "Incipient" was another word I learned from another of your videos. I have no reason to stop thanking you yet.

It was actually Salome’s mother, Herodias, who wanted John the Baptist killed. In the New Testament, Herod’s stepdaughter is unnamed; we learn that she was called “Salome” from an account by ancient historian Josephus.

Thank you, Derek Lan and Zoe Fuller. What a beautiful and fitting moment caught at the end. It did much to ease the pain of what happened to my beloved Johnny B. And I love that the baptismal was showcased at the start of the video and put to good use at the end. It's almost like Abai wanted to send the message, "This is what it was all for."
