I'd really like to believe your analysis and maybe it applies to some women. However,all the time he passed her,he wasn't standing close to his car. Had he been getting out of the car with his overalls, she would have spoken to him OR would have thought he's driving his boss' car. Some guy's would have also thought the same and wouldn't have given assisted him had he been going to a shop for example.
