I love the way he goes on seemingly random tangents that end up being relevant metaphors for the things he's trying to explain.
His explanation of why Atlanta s3 feels weird is actually genius and makes me appreciate it so much more

I understand what he was going for now and think he accomplished it perfectly but it doesn’t make the season any better to me. Still don’t really like it but it was a choice they made for the show. it won’t hit with everyone and that’s fine

My favourite Season 3 episode was the boy with the deceased Trinidadian nanny. As a Trini it was extremely relatable but Seasons 1 and 2 were the best.

I've not watched it all yet, and have not touched 4 yet, but I'm loving it, I love all of the weird side stories, they're often the most thought provoking. It's definitely a different type of show, like we're barely following the crew anymore but it all still feels right to me, it's strange but I love it
It's crazy how this man is actually 2 different people. He's equally good at both careers as a musical artist(Childish Gambino) and actor/director/producer(Donald Glover).

I love the way he thinks and articulates his thoughts. “Culture is a compression of information” and “the internet robs moments” are such simple sentences but they explain a lot

Ludwig Göransson is really the unsung hero of great scores and music. I fell in love with him through Mandalorian, then seeing what else he all did... I was baffled. And honestly everybody that collabs with Donald Glover is a more or less secret genius in some way.

At 3:02 i heard "me and ah- me and danny" and in my heart i heard him think "me and abed". What i love about these kind of interviews is that it sends these people back to those times. Super wholesome
I could just keep watching and listening to him talk for so long, there are so very few people with such a great fluid stream of consciousness that actually want to make you pay attention, listen, and learn more. This man is such a treasure.

Allison Brie for the Assist of the Century! Never knew that’s how Glover met Ludwig! Together, Childish Gambino and Ludwig are like this generation’s Quincy Jones and MJ. Both guys are multi talented and exceptionally good at nearly everything they try. And their chemistry is really unmatched, when you think of Artist & Producer/engineer relationships today.

What a great interview. I’m glad they let him talk at such length in each part. I’ve really only seen him on Community so it was really interesting to get to know him better.
Dude was a great Lando. Criminal he hasn't been asked to reprise the role at every opportunity. He's so spot on about the pulpy nature.
Crazy how many great things came about in his career by chance. Just comes to show that he is a master of seeing opportunity where other's don't

Glover is just ridiculously well spoken and interesting to listen to. Been a fan for years, and went back and forth between fearing he would burn so bright he'd end up gone, or that he'd become so cynical he'd stop producing stuff. But here he is, being who I've enjoyed for years. I'm happy Glover is in this world.

I'm never ever gonna forget Community, it will forever be one of my all time favorite shows.
The level of intelligence of this man is perfectly demonstrated here. Words are too slow for his mind. He just gets it. Whatever "it" is. Also I love him in Community, I watch the entire show every couple of months.

That expertly manicured beard, those pants, Donald's imagery in "This is America" (both shown and evoked) along with his choreography and lyrics were just *chef's kiss.* Exceptional! I must have watched This is America 20+ times in a row after I saw it for the first time. I then watched a different video specifically about all the "hidden" meanings behind everything in the video and watched it another 20+ times to take it all in. What a song, what a music video! Bravo, Donald!
Donald is the epitome of the term ‘Renaissance Man’, he is a master of so many fields. Most people can’t compare to him and what he’s done in his career. An absolute living legend!

I first came to know him with This is America and the guy who introduced me to him literally said the same thing as you; that Donald Glover is a complete Renaissance Man.
I'd love to see a Lando series where old Lando, played by Billy Dee Williams, starts narrating, and then we see the adventure happen with young Lando, played by Donald Glover.

I had a similar concept that but it was old Han Solo telling young Ben his adventures (played by the Solo cast) and obviously embelishing the truth.
Been following since the Derek comedy days, still remember the days people just thought he was a comedian, then writer, then just an actor, then musician, then back to actor and then director. He is such a master in all fields. One of the best Rappers, Actors, Musician, Director, Writers all wrapped into one of greatest all time careers in history
I love that joy when he's talking about Cree Summer. That's the joy I get when she's in something, and how I felt to see her in the final ep.
He is the reason we are getting Across the Spider Verse. Salute!

Community is one of the greatest shows of all time and Donald made so much of it. Respect.
I love how he almost gets to the end of a sentence, but just before the last word, he pivots to another sentence.

The internet steals moments.... SO profound. In fact a lot of what he said was profound and it just rolled off his tongue like a true creative mind.
Season 3 of Atlanta was criminally underrated in my opinion. So well written and executed. The anthology series really allowed them to experiment and develop pieces that are really true to the genres of Afro-surrealism and magical realism. Exceptional stuff and AML will always be the best album imo❤

How he explained series 3 was exactly how I took it when I watched it. It was basically the absurd vibe of Atlanta s1 and s2 but one the road/in different cultural settings. That’s why I loved it so much. I have a similar dark humour to his brother so in the face of messed up, absurd stuff you gotta just laugh and say, ‘well alright then’.

Season 3 was my favorite season of the show. It felt bad going online and not being able to share that enthusiasm for the season with basically anyone. Great to hear he enjoys it the most.
The breakdown of Season 3 of Atlanta was truly fascinating to hear. The whole season is pretty well done. Very rare for a show to achieve such uniqueness.
The fact that Donald still hangs out with Danni is so awesome! (even if its just for the movie), and that he almost said Abed instead of Danni lol
Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian was absolutely my favourite thing about Solo.
Atlanta is genuinely one of the best shows ever made and more people should watch it.

You can tell he’s proud of his characters and would enjoy the chance to continue their stories.
Just great to see a genuinely happy person who loves what they do and doesn’t take themselves to serious.
I came for Community, but stayed because Donald is truly inspiring and actually a creative genius
I've been following Donald Glover's career since 2005/2006 during the Derrick Comedy/College Humor era. Found out he rapped and did stand up not too long after that. Its been really amazing to watch his career growth over the last almost 20 years.

Donald is just so naturally funny, even his split second impression of Ludwig Göransson made me snort. Talented, down to earth and funny. He is one of my inspirations.
I really love how Donald Glover have this power to look at the positive in some very tough situations. Loved his honesty, loved how where he took the questions in this interview.
The way he described season 3 of Atlanta was super interesting
I've watched Community everyday for the last three years and still laugh at every one of Troy's jokes. Donald made that character so classic and funny. Can't wait for the movie.

Atlanta was sooo good. I’m so disappointed it only had that many seasons I think it could use a bit more. Donald Glover is such a genius and I feel still slept on gem in story boarding and productions.
This setting in an orange grove is very beautiful. More interviews should take place outside like this!

I’m so excited to hear about the movie. He’s so talented, so happy he did this interview. I’ve been stuck since I saw my first ep.
Really appreciate artists like this who expose societies' absurdity in a digestible and thought provoking way.
Felt like I could listen to him explain all of these things forever man. It was so seamless, like you're listening to your buddy talk about his weekend. All of his projects are so profound too, they really connect with people and sometimes completely different crowds of people. He's just such a great artist in the best sense of the word.

I’m so happy that Donald Glover is literally known by so many people. I remember when I came across Because The Internet through the 3005 single cause it actually made it onto the charts and i kept replaying it until I eventually had to check out the album, and i was just blown away. Still to this day. What a masterpiece, like it speaks so much to the world we live in today, I always felt so connected to it.

I can assure you people were watching Community. 2011 during his EP tour (a few months before he did his Camp tour) he had tweeted out a meet and greet for a free private the day before his actual concert. It was like 50 people or so. Many of us wanted to do the handshake. The Community movie talk makes me happy!
It's wild to me how at the time it seemed Community wasn't the standout show, when it's truly one of the BEST well written comedic shows I've seen.
Talented , genius, inspiring, hardworking and genuine to the craft what a guy .
I just love listening to him talk and experiencing how he explains things.
Realizing GQ deadass has some of the best and most introspective videos of artists. They give them freedom to say whatever they feel. I’m always called back to the Rick Rubin and Kendrick conversation being a 30 min zen garden. Kendrick’s ingenious mind and Rick Rubin’s ability to prod for that genius to help people talk about things they would otherwise hide. GQ is to interviews what NPR is for music. Interviews are GQs bread and butter, and Tiny Desk is NPRs staple.
He seems soo at peace now. Good to see him in good specifics.

Even though he didn't have a crazy amount of screen time in "The Martian", that was one of my favorite movies and the way he portrayed his role was awesome.

Donald has been consistently on the grind whether it be in TV, movies, music etc. and it still feels like he’s underrated. Hoping he tours again soon for the upcoming Gambino album

One of, if not THE MOST talented person in Hollywood. I hope we can more interviews just so we can pick his brilliant mind. He’s just so chill and at peace these days too, like he knows there’s nothing left for him to prove. The guy’s really done it all.

Donald Glover was the underrated artist who got what he deserved. i’ve been following him since the community days and man to see this man grow into the amazing artist he is today is just so beautiful to see.
