Don Watson Transport Managing Director Noelene Watson is also the chair of the Australian Trucking Association.
She has come a long way since her husband’s death in 1994.
For most of her career she has forged her way by simply knuckling down and getting on with it.
Involved with the ATA for nine years, she was elected as ATA Chair in March, 2014, replacing David Simon after his four-year stint.
We chat with her about the industry.

My father drove trucks for Don Watson Transport in the early 80's. Always spoke highly of him and I felt Don treated him like he was a mate, not a boss.
The transport industry needs more people that have a positive can do attitude. The knockers are alway going to knock but those that can lead will lead. Well done to the Watson family.

For a company to advertise for drivers on a regular basis speaks volumes on how it's run, you only have to look at the trailers parked dangerously close to intersections near their Sydney base. It's only a matter of time before we see their stupidity on TV.
