Don’t Wake Up | Keeping Dormant Cancer Cells Asleep to Prevent Metastasis

Why does cancer metastasis (spread) sometimes occur years after a primary tumor has been removed? Julio Aguirre-Ghiso, Ph.D., explains how cancer cells can travel to other parts of the body but lie dormant or “asleep” for years-and discusses his research on how to keep these cells in a sleep state and prevent metastasis from ever happening.
Dr. Aguirre-Ghiso is an expert in the field of cancer dormancy and is the Founding Director of The Cancer Dormancy & Tumor Microenvironment Institute at the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center.

I also think it would be worth to express mutant archaic NOVA1 in cancer stem cells, and see if the cancer is driven to terminal differentiation..
