Don't Use Another Walleye Plastic Until You Watch This!

Спорт

LINKS BELOW Soft plastics have become very popular for walleye anglers in the past several years. Manufacturers are now making hundreds of "walleye specific" plastics to meet the demand, but the sheer number of options can be daunting when it comes to choosing a soft plastic that will work best for you. In this video, I break down all the aspects of walleye plastics from color, to size, to tail action, to plastic composition, to help you decide which ones to stock in your tackle box!

Excellent video, straight to the point, informative, and after watching your how to select the right jig video I think I know what my picks will be for upcoming walleye tournaments later this year. Plain old round head, lead jig and chartreuse, purple, black, white or orange curly tail (could be combinations of those colors). Lead round head jigs just because they are cheap and areas of Danube that I fish are full of snags (formations 30lb+ rocks) and curly tails because I like their presentations the most, maybe some ribbed paddle tails too.

Great overall video on plastics. I wish we could get away with lighter weights in Lake Erie but it rarely settles down enough and we drift too fast. What about Ned Rigs? Short stick baits are killer sometimes too. Also, during the mayfly hatch, Ned Rigs with a Lunker City Hellgie is great.

@@codybertram6122 For Lake Erie, it's tough to do. We use a drift sock to slow the boat's drift but if the boat is moving at a fast clip the only possible solution is to fish the swing . Even then you only have a brief minute to work your bait until the bait starts moving with the drift. On high pressure weather days, the fish won't chase.

I just troll mini crankbaits but now the water level is wayyy up and I cant get down to the fish anymore. Anything pink or purple and deep diving usually slays but the water is like 15 feet higher into the trees now. Got to pull some plastics thru the brush this year.
