I love this game. The art style is great, the music is great, the sound design is great, and most importantly, the gameplay is great and doesn't piss me off. I'll admit, I haven't REALLY got into this game (the longest time I've survived is 15 days,) but for what I've played, I know I'll get there. The game really feels like true survival. There are basics that are self-explanatory (eat so you don't die, you need light so you can see by night, etc.) but there are also complete curveballs thrown in. Living trees, strange hands that destroy your fires, mouths in the ground that teleport you somewhere far away in your world, the list goes on. And the best part, whenever you die it feels reasonable, or incredibly amusing. For example, my latest run. I had gotten pretty far, I had a camp set up, I had the science machine up and running, and I just started a farm. That's when I noticed a recipe for what appeared to be makeshift bandages. I had every ingredient for them except for ash. So, I found a tree nearby that was relatively distant from the rest of the forest and set it alight. What I didn't realize was that there was a sapling huddled up next to the tree that made a bridge between it, and my base. So, my base immediately burst into flames, and I ran. However, the forest was quite large and was cut off from the edge of my world by the water. And the only way out was through an area covered in spider's nests. It was also sunrise, so the spiders were on the prowl. I bet you could guess what happened next.

I honestly think my favorire part of the game is the style. The combination of 1920's cartoon base with victorian styling is something truly unique: it adds a lot of darkness with the victorian style but also contradicts itself at the same time with the cheery 1920's cartoon style, for great effect. The music is classical sounding, but a lot more energetic and speedy than usual classic music, again, linking back to the 20's idea. Don't Starve creates a truly unique and difficult to describe feel artistically that is absolutely fantastic.

Some people consider ROG part of the base game at this point. Very few actually play base DS.

Been playing this game for about a year now and it’s quickly become one of my favorites. All four games (Don’t Starve Together, Reign of Giants, Hamlet, and Shipwrecked) bring something completely new and fresh. Probably one of the most replayable games ever. Other than Minecraft, it’s the only survival game I need

As a webber main and someone who has played the two games (mostly together) for almost two years, I completely agree with this video.

Thank you for giving this game more attention, it really deserves it. I’ve grown up with this series and it’s far and away one of the best, most challenging, and just pure clever and witty games I’ve ever played.

Foekoe is literally addicted to indie games and that’s why he’s so cool!!

I remember when I first played woody and transformed during the night, I was looking at my phone and then all of sudden this super loud and catchy music turns on. I jumped so high and screamed so loud too. Don’t starve is awesome

I don't play games much, but this is the one I have stuck to since 2015. I love it.

dont starve is the first game i bought" its also the first open world survival game and basically spawned the whole genre

Dst is such a good game...the art style, the mechanics, THE STORY are so freaking EPIC.

Webber is really good in DST. Everyone likes having a webber on their team. Add in a Wickerbottom, a damage dealer like Wolfgang or Wigfred, Wendy or Walter as base support, and a WX-78 if you intend to go on raids later.

WX-78 literally gives nothing to the team. So unless the WX player is good and can rush runes than there is really no point in having one on your team.

This video got me hooked to don’t starve which is in my top 3 favorite video games next to spelunky and terraria (which I also got hooked because of foekoe) so thank you for introducing me to these wonderful incredible games

That season mechanic look interesting when you come from a place where every season is either warm or boiling hot

I was shocked to find out there are seasons that arent just burning to death

Don’t starve together had been my favourite game ever sense 2017 and I adore everything this game has to offer. The shorts are amazing and sometimes heart breaking (Wendy short) and the community over all is really nice! This game is something that I don’t think will ever die until the developers stop updating it!

Im mainly stuck in the "get everything set up, gets a huge confidence boost, and is immediately killed by something" stage

I love coming back to this video for the thumbnail art. I love it.

i always use webber and build a giant base next to a spider nest to have a constant supply of food while they don't attack me
