A bit, yeah

One monster meat plus 3 ice in the crockpot, boom meatballs. Food all winter, all you need is ready access to monster meat. For that I suggest setting up base camp near (but not too near) a huge cluster of spider nests. Bonus is hunting the spiders will give tons of silk and glands. Just be sure to hunt them using the trap technique.

Or for those who are not around spiders. You can stand inbetween a bunny and its rabbit hole, holding a torch. If you time it right, you can hit the bunny once with your torch, lighting it on fire. As it screams in brutal agony. It will eventually cook itself, dropping a cooked morsel. Use this morsel for a meatball. Dinner and a show. FAST FOOD NEVER TASTED SO GOOD! (This only works with players with a 1x damage modifier, Wigfrid would instantly kill the bunny and Abigale wouldn't be able to finish it off in one hit.)

Well, I though I know many tricks and tips, now I know I am a n00b...

As of the current patch (probably ages ago) you can see bubbles on the surface of the swamp at all times where there are tentacles.

I found out about the moleworm old bell trick the hard way. They ended my longest running game. I'd saved up like three or four of the bells, and had them all in a chest. The chest and my moleworm farm got destroyed in a fight. I survived the battle only to suddenly have my entire base stomped into oblivion. I'd avoided the first two bells, but apparently other bells were taken during the chaos, and I didn't hear them. The damage distracted me and I was stomped out of existence.

Last one got me

Great, im new, first time finding a cursed chest, I thought, wow, I FOUND MY BASE WOOHOO! FREE LOOT TOO! then i opened it and my base burned down... I had a science machine and campfire and all.... Yep. My chester died. I found the chest outside the base after I settled in, so it destroyed everything. At least i got a fire wavey wand :)

Also tip: You can use a hammer on pig houses and get cut stone, planks and pig skin.

You don’t need to burn down the curst chests.Just drag a item on it and place it inside to disarm them

Lantern trick: if you have a lantern and drop it, then save and quit the game the return to the game , the lantern will keep being lit (with the same light radius as it had when you left) unless you pick it up. Moleworm trick: Pick up a couple moleworms and then leave the game and resume it, then drop them on the ground. Normally they would go back to their holes, but since you logged in and out they make a new one and the hole which you took the moleworm from actually spawns a new moleworm when you enter the world Hope this is enough to understand, if not I think I can find a link to a youtube video

BTW you can also spot tentacles by looking at how fast your insanity is decreasing (big arrow down in the swamp means you don't want to stop moving)

I use the moleworms as a way to make a ticking time bomb. I put a player to sleep with a pan flute. I drop a mole near by in the day, letting it sleep. and one or two gunpowder next to a player. When the sunsets, the mole will wake up. collect the gunpowder, and then kill both the player and the mole. Sure, you could kill it with an axe to the face. But something is to be said about letting your victim just sit there. forever. Waiting patiently for death, helplessly. And then, as twilight breaks. Goodbye victim. Also on the whole forcing death on a player. You could use ice to put out their fire at night, forcing them to use a torch. Or force feed them ice to partially cool them off. Or secretly spawn in longpig and force feed that to humans dealing 20 damage and quite a lot of insanity. YAY FOR CANNIBALISM! (c_give("humanmeat",40)
