Saber Artoria will never reach her true power when summoned in a "normal" holy grail war where she fight "normal" servants. Even under a competent master who can supply her with infinite magical energy, her main noble phantasm Excalibur is "only" A++ rank. Even though she isn't the same as Proto-Saber Arthur, her Excalibur is still subjected to the 13 Restraints of the Round Table which reduce Excalibur's power from EX to A++. To utilize her full potential, she must fight against an enemy that wants to destroy the world in order to get her Excalibur to EX rank. In Type Moon verse, there is only 1 time where Excalibur has been used with all 13 Restraints released. When Velber 02 destroyed most of the gods and early human civilization and before she successfully destroy the entire world, a "hero" came and fire an EX ranked Excaliblast, killing Velber 02 where most of the gods had tried, failed and died. As Velber 02 meets all requirements of the 13 Restraints, the "hero" was able to use the full power of Excalibur to save the World (Gaia) and Humanity (Alaya). The most notable example of gods being killed are the 12 Machine Gods of Atlantis, where Zeus is a giant space battleship and Artemis is a space fighter that is equipped with an Anti planet gun. While Zeus was able to kill Velber 02 if he assimilated all of the other Atlantis Machine Gods' power, it would lead to a "dead end timeline" and get the timeline culled because he prevented the progress of Humanity. Other enemies where it is possible for Saber Arturia to use the full power of Excalibur are Goetia (who incinerated the entire human timeline iirc) and U Olga Marie (who also destroyed the entire human civilization and caused the lostbelt in F/GO. But it is unlikely as both Goetia and U Olga (currently) didn't want to destroy the world, thus missing out on 1 requirement where the battle must be to save the world.

Artoria is the best character in Fate so glad you finally covered her profile. Just wanna point out that during her first fight with Heracles in UBW when she released a beam inside Heracles' that was her Mana Burst not Excalibur. She can use Mana Burst as destructive beams of energy but only her Alter form spams them because she has a huge pool of magical energy.

I have all her variants in fgo :’) All her ssr variants are lv100 and everyone is 10/10/10

@@amari7782 Excalibur can one shot the White Titan Velbar, an alien with so much power that it single handedly wiped out entire pantheons of gods and all the civilizations on earth. Artoria's magic resistance is so high that NOTHING outside of True Magic can even scratch her. If Medea, a first class magus from the age of gods couldn't do thing to against her Magic Resistance, Nero wouldn't either. There is no way for Nero to even be able to compete with Artoria regardless of class, let alone beat her.

If we take Nasu's statement as truth, then Artoria will most likely not be Grand Saber. According to Nasu, her arc is complete, there will be no more additions to her character asides from jokes. My candidate for Grand Saber is Proto Arthur, so that technically it's a version of Artoria who gets the Grand Servant title. Also it makes more sense for Proto-Arthur to become the Grand Saber in comparison to Artoria or Musashi (which a lot of people are theorizing will be the Grand Saber), seeing how his mission has literally been traveling across worlds to hunt down the Beast of Revelations, and Grand Servants by definition are powerful servants who hunt down and destroy Beast-type beings to protect humanity. Not to mention Proto-Excalibur is like a world-tier defense system, something the Counter Force would salivate over.

@@caskett2585 Proto Arthur and Musashi are both valid candidates, but I feel like the main issue with them is that they're both walking anomalies, in a sense. I mean, the version of Musashi we have in FGO technically isn't even "real," since she comes from an alternate history that no longer even exists. Of course the big thing to take note of here is that we don't yet know the qualifications for Grand Saber, let-alone who could actually fit them. My comment was meant more-or-less as a joke, though I guess as long as we're seriously speculating, maybe the Grand Saber will be whoever wielded Excalibur against Sefar back in the day?

And you base that on what? UBW? Actually Gilgamesh can match Saber in pure melee in most of his "routes". Watch Fate/Night 2006 for example he was pushing saber in melee for a good portion of the fight. If he actually stops restricting his EX tier NP called Sha Naqba Imuru he would be able to beat saber with fists only and she won't be able to land a single blow on him.

Lets see Shiros track record: Won against Gilgamesh (restricted) Won against Corrupted Hercules Won against Servant Shiro (Held back) Other versions of shiro (in like Snow movie) Basically soloed everyone but full power Gilgamesh Card. And while what you referring to is 100% cannon and is stated by shiro himself it simply can not be true logically. If Shiro is worse "saber than saber" than he would never have beaten even restricted Gilgamesh in melee. Since Gilgamesh does fine in melee against saber and opponents who are even stronger than her (Enkidu)

@@alispeed5095 No your example with Karna does not make sense. Just because shiro can not beat Karna does not mean that Shiro is "trash". Cu can not beat Karna either he can't even tickle him. Because Karna's armor reduces ALL damage by 90% conceptual too. And since Cu is weaker than Karna it makes one of Karnas NPs conceptually one shot CU. While Corrupted Heracles was a weaker one remember that Servant Shiro took several lives away from Berserker Hercules in UBW so the Shiro "I would not stand a chance against any other servant in UBW is utter bs even if he is weaker than his Servant form. UBW Shiro easily kills Assasin (both true and false) Caster Rider Saber (she wont have time to Excalibur) Shiro Loses to Berserker (to fast and to many lives) (chance of win very low) Lancer (Cu gae bolg + anti projectiles+ fast) Gilgamesh (Serious with EA)

You contradicting yourself how can you call CU aint top tier if he can both possibly beat Karna and in Fate/NIght VN he fought vs Gilgamesh for 10 hours.... Btw Vlad NP spawns inside Karna so Armor can not defend against it because that NP does not have a vector, Gae bolg has a Vector and will be reduced by armor. You saying that in some other work Gae Bolg killed Karna? That sounds kinda stupid that 10% of it would be enough but maybe the armor was not active or maybe its simply shit writing. And I dont understand why you think that unlimited mana UBW Shiro cant beat Saber?? Her defenses are weak, her EX needs charge time, what can she do against UBW?. also for people who are a bit confused. Altoria Alter is NOT stonger than her normal Version. we can see this through their stats. Salter's are literally 1 or 2 stages below Artorias. the only reason she appeared to be able to deck the halls with Herc is because of Sakura whom was basically providing her with infinite mana supply thus she can spam Excalibur beams left, right, up, down and whatever direction you can think of. just like what Tsiah said. depending on who the Master is the Servant themselves's power fluctuates. OG Artoria is severely nerfed under Shirou and even when under Kiritsugu she also isn't at her full potential since while yes Kerry does know magecraft he isn't a full mage. Artoria Alter under Sakura is the closest we can see to Artoria's true potential. yes I did mention her stats are lower but with Sakura's bottomless mana feuling her those stat downs almost don't matter. now Imagine OG Artoria under an actual competent Mage.

I'm glad this might become a series.

The first unknown seal that states "One's comrades-in-arms must be courageous" sounds like Gawain, and I am well versed in the Arthurian legend.

But now, we just got to have the video focusing on the rival of excalibur. Yes IV, talk about sigurd and the demonic sword of the sun that rival's excalibur.

Just a little correction, the sword that killed sefar was the prototype of it. Even tho that gives of the idea of the power of her sword

It's not confirmed whether the prototype or her Ex killed Sefar. But from the hint from Extella it's more likely Saber's Excalibur. Moon Cell is a giant data recorder and involves in the fight against Sefar. And Achimedes the maintenance of said record believed it was Excalibur. Also something to note is that Moon Cell servant summoning system is different than Fuyuki or FATE. It isn't connected to Throne of Heroes because itself act as one. It already recorded everything on Earth since 4.6 billions years ago, and capable of reconstructing whichever heroes already recorded. So since Artoria and Excalibur already existed in Extraverse timelines, it doesn't make sense for male Arthur and Proto Excalibur to be there.

With the Fate community wanting a redo of saber's Route. One thing I personally want but I know may not be possible. If we can ever get an animated fight between Saber and Saber Alter. I don't know how but Natsu just says he wants to instead cross over the Fate route and HF storylines. Or a new route altogether. Not just a fight but some great dialogue with it too.

Can you make a Don't Sleep on Sigurd video? A lot of people are sleeping on how absurdly strong his stats and skills are. He is pretty much a Saber with a Berserker stats (Strength and Endurance A+), gathers information like a Sherlock (Crystallization of Wisdom), mixed with a bit of Caster and can disguise his appearance too (Primordial Runes B), has the highest Independent Action in the verse, so absurdly high he literally produces his own mana indefinitely (Dragon-kind Modification EX) and lastly equipped with THE most powerful demonic sword that is on par with Excalibur. This bad boi is so versatile its game breaking!!

Scathach is basically that as well if not even more so. You forget that Hideyoshi has some of the highest of not they highest all around stats (A rank on everything and EX on his np and luck) he can replicate people’s np or just outright steal them not to mention you have people like rama who has the ability to multi class while being a saber and even his are far greater than sigurds overall on top of literally stated in irl lore to be stronger than both karna and Arjuna.

@@amari7782 What makes Sigurd more broken than the ones you mentioned is the fact that he generates his own mana with Dragon Modification EX, he'll never run out of mana while the other will suck their masters dry. Combined with Gram which is confirmed to be the strongest demonic sword in the verse makes him even more broken. The ones you listed are definitely strong, but they are nowhere as absurdly self-sufficient as Sigurd is

@@amari7782 Neither of Nero nor Scath or "many servents" have ever displayed nor mentioned having such power, that's pure head canon. Saber/Lancer/Archer are well known for being heavy mana consuming classes, the stronger the servent the more power they consume, heavy hitters like Scath and Rama need tons to function. Avengers have handy caps as it ties to their hatered and doesn't even grant them* much to begin with, the skill description itself states that they get miniscule amounts over time, not enough to function independently. The highest ranked one belongs to Jalter and it's A+, Sigurd on the other hand has rank EX and it literally states that it grants him an almost complete independent mobilization.

Who would honestly sleep on Arthuria? On top of being Fate's poster child, she's one of the few servants that can beat Gil, arguably has the strongest weapons, and has one of the best swordsmanship in lore. She's not on my top 10 favorites but i recognize her immense power.

Artoria isn't a Marry sue, Avalon is the Marry sue as that shit is effectively the definition of plot armor. If she always manifested in the grail war with Avalon on her person, she would be S class easy.

Her Excalibur seals are different than Rhongomyniad and proto Excalibur Her seals are for protection and block her ability to channel more mana on Excalibur So that caliburn problem doesn’t repeat and break the sword Rhongomyniad and proto Excalibur seals are to release the innate power of said weapons

Such armaments include Excalibur, Excalibur Proto and Rhongomyniad, which also require similar conditions to activate their most powerful state. For Excalibur Proto, over half of the restraints must be released to achieve a perfect release of its True Name, but even with less than seven restraints released, a weaker release of its True Name is possible. You have it backwards, she was able to do so because it was Caliber and not Excaliber. Caliber broke and was reforged by the lady of the lake.

invisible air isn't just used to lower the amount of power she uses, it is also used to conceal her identity as being king arthur(or artoria in this case) since excalibur is really iconic and pretty much goes hand in hand with king arthur

Not to put down Saber here, but I do think it's worthy of mention that Sasaki's blade was damaged during the final moment. Meaning his reality warping attack was given an opening that Saber took advantage of. Mind you, it was small, and required her obvious stupid amount of skill. But had Sasaki not chosen to attempt a clash of their blades directly, and his sword not broken, he likely would have won. You know, unless she decided to just nuke him lol

@@JoshuaDMarti No I agree with you 100% Again, wasn't downplaying Saber by any means, but both uses of Tsubame were used on ground level, and the whole concept behind it is that it strikes three vital points all at once. It's a move that's essentially a one shot kill so long as it plays out. What was cool is that Saber's precognition showed her dying, her belly and her neck was sliced open, showing that in that future, she would have blocked one of three slashes. But Tsubame strikes in a way that most cannot fully block on account of three completely different arcs being swung, it's legit bullshit and I love it lol As it'f fair when consideirng most Servants can carpet bomb a city. I only made note that while Saber is broken beyond measure, her very instincts told her 'this move will kill you no matter what. Dodge before it happens.' And she got lucky the first time by just barely escaping it's range before it activated. In terms of pure Swordsmanship, Sasaki reigned supreme. He fought nearly all servants and pushed them back while on a limited mana source. His skills were highly ranked enough to even Damage Berserker with a normal sword, and caused all opponents to retreat. As fighting Sasaki was pointless in terms of winning the war. But both Gil and Cu were scared to fight him, Gil claiming hesitancy in terms of melee combat, and Cu just overall preferring NOT to fight him. Sasaki is pure beast lol

He's got excellent parameters* to begin with, He has EAM which means his incredible combat skills can't be hampered by mental restrictions + Knight of Lake which "is able to temporarily add a + to any parameter other than Luck" + "The moment he draws out [Arondight], all his parameters are increased by 1 rank." Additionally Arondight is a dragon slaying sword so it "deals additional damage against Heroic Spirit with dragonic attribute" AKA Seiba. His brokenness is 2nd only to Galahad on the round table *Base Parameters STR: B CON: B AGI: A MGI: B LCK: E NP: A Arondight Drawn STR: A CON: A AGI: EX MGI: A LCK: D NP: EX And he can add a + to any of those besides Luck... So yeah he's exceedingly broken Just for additional reference on how utterly bonkers he is, he fought Gawain to a draw during his "power hours" and eventually overwhelmed him after that ended (several hours later)

@@hikari34622 Please don't use heracles as an example for strength of servants, he's pure compatibility and nothing else. A servant like Achilles might struggle to put down Heracles, but that hardly means Achilles is weak. In order to beat him you either must have one compatible noble phantasm, or multiple. That'd be like saying Artoria is trash because she lost to EMIYA in Hollow Ataraxia when Cu would body him then. that's still just bad compatibility. Also Sir Lancelot [Servant] The "Knight of the Lake", famed as the strongest of the Knights of the Round Table. His illicit love affair with Queen Guinevere drove Camelot down the road to ruin, tarnishing his legacy in the legends of King Arthur. As he often fell into madness due to troubles involving Guinevere, he has a particular compatibility with the Berserker class. In a lot of ways, he's just a guy who pushed himself too hard. He was born with numerous abilities and aptitudes that take him beyond the realm of "high-spec" right into "completely overpowered", and none of them were any help at all in solving his problems. It's also important to note much of the Garden of Avalon stuff is from the perspective of Knights of the Round, many of who clearly revere Artoria, and its obvious they'd put her in a brighter light than she belongs.

Saber Miyu and Saber Illya should be mentioned and of course when Illya and Kuro still part of one body Archer Illya tracing Excalber to take out Salter in one of the best fights in fate fun. Saber Miyu and Saber Illya a result of using a class card to in effect merge with the servant gaining all their powers and ability to fight. Saber Illya normally though the Lily version. Unfortunately in FGO you don't get the class cards for Illya and Miyu but they would be so broken with class cards being able to like Illya in example did start as Lancer instantly transform into Rider and then instantly transforming into Saber Lilly in a fight. And Illya's excaxbar with additional buffing up taking out a ton of shadow servants and damaging the enemies base substantially. The Saber class major advantage vs other classes mentioned more than once in the stories. See Mordred being super strong in Apocrapha as a alternative example for the power of a Saber.

She's definitely an A+ Servant with a proper master, being able to put the work on Herc. However, with Avalon she becomes an EX Rank Servant because of how easy she could clap Gilgamesh and likely every other EX Rank Servant (Karna, Arjuna, Archer Herc, etc) and every other servant below them.

Berserker Herc? Cute. Put her vs Herc in his prime form and the only way she'll put up a fight with would be her noble phantasm Avalon and Excalibur. She's a king. Not a battle hardened warrior. He might even taunt her into using Avalon for insult to injury. Comparing her to the likes of Karna and Arjuna is an insult to them knowing they clap her hard seeing what they can do when they're not nerfed. She needs Avalon to be a legitimate threat along Excalibur. Come at me boys. Or not.

You say Saber need excalibur to be a legitnimate threat but the same literally can be said about Arjuna and Karna. They receive their noble phantasm from Shiva and Indra who for all we know got their ass kick by the white titan, the same white titan that excailibur destroy . A version of Archer Herc so far couldn't defeat Gilgamesh in strange fake while Saber already beat Gil in fate route

Of the knights of round on terms of powers she stands above all of them and even clapped Mordred before Morgan brought Mordred back to kill her. Also if you’re referring to herc in his prime as alicides then go check again. Not to mention what is he gonna do against Avalon he can’t steal it and even if he could it’s useless. Plus without Avalon high tier servants like karna Charlemagne and other strong servants can’t do much againsther

guys, that is true but she is still human karna arjuna and archer herch are semigods, their np combined with their higher speed and strenght might even be enough to take her down, also "clap gilgames"? im not sure about that, given how powerful ea is when used well, not to mention it has the advantage of not needing to move to use its enormous power

Super Karna and Arjuna Alter literally have the Indian Pantheon behind them and they still wouldn't be able to fatally wound her (that's not to say Saber can hurt them either but still.) Not sure why you make the usage of Avalon seem cowardly, why wouldn't she use something in her arsenal if it's what will give her victory.

I like that Fate version of our buildings are slightly bigger.

The fact the Saber managed to "dodge" Gae Bulg (an attack that is undodgeable) is impossibly infuriating to me. Also, didn't Artoria only manage to beat Tsubame Gaeshi because Sasaki bent his sword trying to block her earlier?

@@tronovonflidder775 Karna is a Demi-God, Artoria is not, in his original story, Karna ripped his Overpowered Golden Armour (which was his skin) off his body and then went on to battle for a few days. Artoria has no such feat. People are fine when Karna does this stuff because he was overpowered to begin with. Karna living and fighting for a few days after tearing his own skin off skin is more than enough reason for him to be able to keep living after a move that should've killed him.

@@tronovonflidder775 So you're going to ignore that Artoria managed to walk away from the Fatal blow that Gae Bolg should have given her and just healed it later. Especially strange considering she has no feats in her legend that should allow her to walk off Mortal wounds, unlike Karna. But I guess you're just gonna ignore that part because of your own bias. You're also going to ignore that Nasuverse Saber has been massively buffed compared to the original Legend. To the point that she can survive an attack that messes with reality itself to kill its target. Karna doesn't have a skill that should let him survive a Fatal Attack, but he's arguably taken worse in his Legends. Artoria doesn't have a skill that should let her survive a Fatal Attack, but she hasn't taken anything near Fatal and continued to fight for days in her Legend, the only reason she survived Gae Bolg was Plot Armour. Whereas Karna has torn off the Topmost Layer of his skin and still went off into battle, so as far as I'm concerned it makes perfect sense for Karna to keep talking after he should have died and it makes no sense for Artoria to be able to survive Reality Altering Gae Bolg and then just be able to heal up afterwards.

She "dodged" it because her luck is high (didn't even dodge it btw, just avoided the fatal blow). Luck is a legit stat of servants, it's explained in the game, deal with it. Stop malding, you Saber haters are a joke.

And Avalon is a dimension barrier And Avalon is one of the strongest np but not that strongest Cause origin form ea is a lot stronger then Avalon And the original ea was in grand order gilgamesh hands Also artoria is around the white titan level But Gilgamesh is far above the white titan You also gotta take in the fact that Gilgamesh was not fighting to kill her he was fighting to make her surrender
