Keep in mind, with the ending songs since we don't see them in the anime itself and it's just the core four (mugi, yui, mio, ritsu) could mean that the ending songs are made while they are in collage, meaning yes the Korg Triton is still used by Mugi but she's obviously expanded her arsenal for lack of a better word

k-on is one of my biggest inspirations for becoming a musician. i watched the anime when i was younger and came back around some time ago to reminisce. re-watching and re-listening htt stuff, i was so inspired to start learning more about music than what i already know! though i started with the piano [i failed], then the drums [i'm mediocre], then the guitar [meh not good, not bad], i ended up with my beloved bass! [though i'm not as cute as mio or a left handed bassist like her lol] its all thanks to these five (including azusa) and a bunch of other musicians that music became my passion and i'm forever grateful.

IMO Mugi's voice is the best (altough Mio is better than Mugi in everything else). Her voice actress is very talented, no surprise she made a band now (and was only 17 when casted for K-on).

I only skip OPs and EDs if I don't like them. There are a lot of bland OPs and EDs out there. I don't like the intros to K-On but the outros are always nice.

I always skip the endings if it's a good anime and if it isn't amazing I skip the opening as well. When I really enjoy a show I just want to see the next episode and not wait like 3 minutes for the ending and opening to end.

I am Japanese, and k-on was very popular back then. It was several times more popular than bocchi is now. At that time, anime other than shonen manga was still persecuted in Japan, so I remember the host of a TV music show talking about something completely unrelated to k-on without reading out its name even though it was at the top of the ranking for a moment lol

This song and K-on! brings me so much nostalgia. I remember listening to this during elementary and highschool when I was still in Singapore. I was an awkward kid back then with a few friends and k-on! was one of the animes I watched after coming home from school. They were one of the reasons why I pushed through with drawing. Thank you Kyo-Ani for this anime. Ho-Kago Tea Time has an untouchable place in my heart.

At 1:28 she doesn’t say “Reality is a lady”, she says “ Genjitsu wa zettai zetsumei” which means "Reality is being in a desperate situation" or “a stalemate”.

Do it it's a masterpiece if you don't mind the "cute girls doing cute things". It's very Character driven and the plot is almost absent (like 99% of the slice of life). It's about 5 girls doing rock music in a music club. The main shtics are about friendship, enjoying your life, follow your passion. Also one thing I want to note it's that it's NOT a musical, all songs have their build-up and there are only few episodes where they actually sing, it's more about the pratice (mostly because of the enjoy life thematic). Mio (best grill btw) is an edgy, annoying pain in the ass at first, but don't worry, it's because she grows up and becomes better (and also her growth is super professional and one of the main strenght points of the series). One last thing to note it's that it has a macross 7 syndrome: it LOVES to spam the same songs over and over (that is the main series problem, gets fixed in the movie luckly) the first season LITTERALY uses only 1 song all the time. It's good in the first season (a 7/10 for me), gets Amazing in the second (8 or even 9 out of ten) and a masterpiece in the movie. It's a jack of all trade slice of life (does both comedy and drama) but unlike others like Arakawa Under the Bridge that do drama with jokes, K-on likes to play with your feeling and doing some full laughter stops moments. The movie does it too, and at it's best.

I got to admit I quit k-on after 7 episodes. It just wasn’t for me but I never skip this Ed. This Ed was truly epic and i freaking love it
