Hi Harry Thanks a lot for a very educational video as always. Could you possibly make a video describing the difference between a nerd, a geek and a freak? Thanks
@user-iw8pg8kq2q
7 ай бұрын
A freak is someone who may have been born with a physical deformity. There was a 19th century American showman named P.T. Barnum, he was very famous. He had a freak show of the deformed people. When he wanted 2 hire these people 4 his show, this how they responded. No, people will stare and laugh at me. Barnum responded by saying they R doing that 2U right now. So U might as well get paid 4 it. Then these people would work 4 Barnum. Another freak is someone who acts and dresses in a weird way. Back in the 1960s, a pro wrestler named Freddie Blassie, would call his opponents pencil neck geeks, as an insult. A nerd was the original term 4 someone who was excessively taken over by technology and technical things. Back in the mid 1980s there was a comedy movie called Revenge of the nerds. Watch it, you'll get a good laugh. Also, nerds had a reputation 4 being very smart. The term geek means the same as nerd. These are American meanings. Hope this helps.😊
Thanks teacher Harry .You are the best teacher I have ever seen . Your tutorials are quintessenrial . Super- duper!

Born and raised in California - 1. We still use “peace” or “peace out” in an informal way. It’s not uncommon to hear. 2. Not many people say “later, dude” (mostly kids and teens among their friends). I think it was a popular thing in the 1990s, but it’s way more common to just say “later.” Also, men will often say, “later, man,” to other men. 3. If it’s a conversation over the phone and not in person, we’ll usually say, “talk to you later” unless we have plans to meet up and see each other in person soon. They get used interchangeably with “see ya” and “see you later.”
See ya mate! 👋👋 that’s how we say it here in Australia. Thanks for sharing 👍👍 from Sydney Australia ❤

Thanks It was wonderful and knowledgeable times on your marvelous episodes. On reflection , may I ask you why do you make "peace" strange? its the main greeting and valediction way had been advised by all prophets. it means «for everyone to be fine, gentle, kindness, lovely » ❤❤❤❤
Another way to say goodbye, is to say "ta ta for now". I love it

Hello Harry, I like your videos very much. When I watched one of your videos I left a question in the comments below but you didn’t get back and comment on my question. In this video you were explaining an idiom “in the nick of time “.My question was : Why did you say “when we arrive in the airport” instead of at ? I would appreciate it if you answered my question. Thank you . By the way, I am watching you from France, Normandy 😊
