    As a Spanish speaker (from colombia), I can say that some of these expressions are similar to Spanish expressions. Is the first time listening to "to die for", "cracking", and "out of this world" and I understood them because their literal traductions in Spanish (colombia) have the same meaning: "esta como para morirse o esta de muerte", "la esta rompiendo/ la rompe", "esta fuera de este mundo".

    I really appreciate you telling us about how much an expression is used..I find this information extremely important because we as non-native speakers can't relate to that and it gives us confidence to use the expression while being sure that we will be definitely understood when we use it. Thank you so much, Sir for such an amazing video as always. ❤❤

    As far as I grasped the topic, we use the “top notch” expression while describing a visit to a restaurant, and primarily their delicious food. When we intend to say something good about the advanced English lessons, the expression “your class rocks” seems more precise. Hope that I’m not mistaken, please correct me if I am.

    Hi Harry, is especially the same as specially?

  • @LearnEnglishwithHarry

    @LearnEnglishwithHarry

    17 күн бұрын

    There is a slight difference between "especially" and "specially." "Especially" is used to emphasise something as particularly notable or above others, while "specially" implies that something is done for a specific purpose or tailored to particular needs. The distinction is subtle but important for precise communication.

    Your lessons deserve nothing but praise, although I believe there's a huge gap between "good" (7/10) and "out of this world" (10/10). I see the latter as a replacement for "amazing", a very overused word.

    Sir, do you make videos on synonyms and their uses? I think this is also a difficult aspect of learning English. For example, when to use words like inculcate, infuse, imbue, impart, infill, ingrain indue and inject.
