    Some good points here Brady! I think another avenue is also direct your audience to the church website, so create a video on demand strategy for archiving of sermons and church ministry. KZread is great for an alternate path to host, share, and build community. We had several paths at Harvest to distribute our content online.

    Great knowledge Brady as always, we do publish a lengthy service on youtube weekly for archival reasons partly, but I do like the sermon extraction part and giving it a different focus to reach a more non-church going audience which is the "main-purpose" of the sermon anyways. Thanks for the motivation for continuing to grow and being creative in ministry Blessings!

    An adjustment that improves discovery without diluting the message. I see value in this. Not at the point where I wouldn’t show the full sermon but appreciative of the need to have a strategy for discovery by people I am sent to reach. Wouldn’t say I am amazing at video editing but even my basic skills can create a 15-20 minute clip from a sermon. The challenge will be to create a new searchable topic that reflects where faith and culture coincide. Yes, to being more creative. Lord help me. I am willing to try. Thanks for presenting a good, strong case for this.

    The sad part is, whether it’s a 15 minute video, or an hour long video, I’d say 90%+ of the churches posting their videos online aren’t preaching rightly anyways. It’s sad to see the church that bears the name of Jesus Christ know so little of Him. Church businesses are full of motivational speakers who toss in a few out-of-context verses here and there and manipulate their audience for financial gain. God have mercy on our country.

  • @waywardspirit7898

    @waywardspirit7898

    2 жыл бұрын

    You mean like having ' Come get vaxed" in the sanctuary? Cause "Jesus would get vaxed". A church that adapts to cultural trends is a church that is compromised and dead. Example..."There is a flu virus on the loose, close your doors, no worship, no singing". And all the ":so called" churches comply. Sickening.

  • @Mindset4Excellence

    @Mindset4Excellence

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@waywardspirit7898 Not sure I follow your reasoning/example. However, so that there is no confusion in what I meant, I will explain… If you study the life of Jesus as he progressed through his earthly ministry (Galilean and Judean) you will see Him adapting to the culture at the time in order to spread the word. Culturally, Galilee and Judea were two different places. If we, the Church, are going to reach the lost then we must willing to go and meet them where they are (ie the Samaritan woman at the well). The Jews during that time would never associate with a Samaritan but Jesus did. He adapted without comprising His holiness. We can do the same. So, taking that same concept today, we must find creative ways to reach the lost sheep. Simply sticking to old/time tested methods (I.e. preaching from the pulpit) isn’t the “only way” to share the Good News. As born again Christians, we are in the world but are “apart” from the world. Find creative ways to use the tools/platforms in the world for God’s glory without sacrificing your faith. That’s my point. 😃. Blessings.

    @@waywardspirit7898 I totally agree! It can become a sloppy slope that gets many churches in trouble. Since “a servant can’t serve two masters” (God vs the things of the world/flesh) we must constantly be on-guard, examining our hearts and true intentions behind everything we do lest we fall into worldly temptation. But fortunately, even when we do mess up, we have a gracious Father who loves and forgives us if/when we repent with “sincerity”.

    Church is for people who are already saved. We have such a backwards view on this. Where is the evangelist and the pastor for the equipping of the Saints for the work of the ministry? Are churches teaching their people to share the gospel? Or is it just about inviting our unsaved friends to church so our pastor maybe share the gospel in some water down way?

    Not a church, not a pastor, but I do stream. I make lots of content on Christian Apologetics and theology. And recently, I decided to do with my presentations, interviews, etc. exactly what you’re recommending! I’m going to call it “CFL Snippets”. CFL stands for Cerebral Faith Live. I just don’t have the time to make the kind of highly, highly, highly edited and visual videos that channels like Inspiring Philosophy does. So I figured I would make my shorter kinds of content via taking snippets out of my longer web show episodes. At the end of each shorter video, there will be a screen prompting viewers to watch the entire PowerPoint presentation or interview if they decide that they would like to watch/listen to the whole thing. I’m already like 40 something episodes into Cerebral Faith Live, so I have tons of material to work with. Now I just need to learn how to make compelling thumbnails, and in my case, the problem isn’t having the right tools, but lack of creativity.

    Because of our sermons being uploaded to KZread starting in 2019, we've gone from 0 to 73k subscribers with over 10 million views. The Lord has blessed our ministry in this regard. Our average watch time is 13-14 minutes and we always try to put up a longer clip during the week. I spent a lot of time learning how to optimize for search, and learned a lot thanks in part to your old videos encouraging people to be on KZread. The clips do not affect the views of the full sermon, but do help with us consistently maintaining views. I serve at Cornerstone Fellowship with Pastor Allen Nolan. Thanks again Brady! 💪

    Hey everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️

    The one thing I’m not a fan of with this method is that it perpetuates clip culture and taking things out of context. When I prepare a message, I’m not intending for people to find the tweetable moment. I’m teaching the scripture and preaching the gospel, which should be done in context. I could be wrong on this as I haven’t put as much thought into it, but that’s my first conviction.

    Have you ever quoted a Bible verse without sharing the entire chapter? Or a chapter without the whole book? Have you ever shared a quote from a sermon or book? Context is crucial of course. But the idea that a complete/profound thought can't exist unless the entirety of the source material is't also shared doesn't track for me.

RW Schambach took his 50 minute to an hour message and listeners were sure to try and catch the next broadcast where he would start out with go with me to a service already in progress and his message to be continued ended with some shout glory! TB,......You have failed to understand that your church and every church is apostate from God and Biblical truth. What you, (the entire church) is selling is a 100% fake christianity. The church, the whole entire thing is nothing more than a den of thieves. You are all enemies of God and are in the business of the buying and selling of a 100% fake christianity. You are all the Godless people of the Godless world, (the beast) and only those who are marked by the Godless world, (the beast) as you are can buy and sell your fake manmade antichrist christianity. Those few who have been sealed by God have nothing whatsoever to do with the church. The church is filled with and is for the Godless people of the world. God has sanctified, (separated) the actual Christians from the apostate church and its fake christianity. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!

    Clearly, I must have missed something. What's the strategy, cut your sermon into several 15-minute segments and give them catchy titles? Is that it? That sounds like a ton of editing work. Not sure I saw the "how to do it" part. I have over 400 sermons on KZread, most with less than 4 views, (most with zero). I will say that I recently made several 15 sec video short but only 1 a lot of views. View duration sounds great assuming you can get some views to start with. I'll be watching your Rules for Church Growth video next.

    If there is someone at your church who knows how to use Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere (or even iMovie), those programs are popular choices. If not, a really simple option you can use is KZread's own editing tool! You can look up videos on how to use KZread editor tool and you'll be able to use those instructions to get clips from a longer message. 😊

    OK, so I manage my local church's YT channel and we basically do something similar - the channel is used for archival purposes and usually the day after the Sunday service a sermon video is posted seperately from the actual Sunday service livestream with its own title and thumbnail. We started posting them seperately in 2021, because a handful of people expressed their wish of having an easier way to view sermons instead of having to manually search for the right timestamps in the livestreams every time. Sometimes those sermons indeed receive more views than the actual Sunday service livestreams they are taken from. By the way, we are a church in Ukraine. A lot of people who moved away because of w a r still watch us from abroad. The channel is quite a trip to the past for those who remember how things were before 2/24. Makes you appreciate present time more.

    Thanks for this strategy! I think this would work equally well for podcasts too. You could cut up a 1+ hour podcast into 2-3 smaller versions with different titles. One thing I worry about as my channel grows is how the subscribers will feel about the repurposed content. I guess, if they don't want to watch, they just skip it. Is my concern justified or no?

  • @prochurchtools

    @prochurchtools

    I wouldn't advise doing this for podcast. Because most podcasts are already long-form and you won't benefit from the discovery and recommendation rankings with a podcast like you can with KZread. As for your concern about the repurposed content, this was something I worried about for a long time. Especially as a newer creator, I always felt like I needed to publish something new and never revisit or repost. There's a balance in there to strike, but you should net more viewers overall with this strategy.

    I found this very interesting information. Your comments, as well as many others in this thread, do not make a distinction between "full service," and "sermon." All your comments seem to be directly only toward sermons. I find that most YT publications are full service, not just the sermon. Sadly, 2022 has a population of short attention span. Modern TV has conditioned us to jump quickly from one thing to another. Few are willing to camp on an idea, book, or sermon that requires an extended attention span. During the pandemic and when I had lots of time, I scanned places around the country, just to listen to the preaching. I am a strong advocate of gospel-based, expository preaching. I am finding very little of this being done. I also learned that most sermons are about 10 minutes long, some 20, some as short as 8 minutes. As a whole, the state of preaching in the US is very sad. It is no mystery why declines - the people in the pews are not being fed. The sermons at my church are about 35 minutes long. I consider this a bare minimum. I am an "idea" kind of person, and I appreciate developing ideas, both doctrinally and practically. I am part of a discussion group that meets Monday nights, 2 hours, to discuss the sermon. Nobody ever says the sermon was too long. During our two hours, we have time to extend the material to other citations, asking related questions and topics, things that cannot fit into 35 minutes. Preaching God's Word has always been vital to any healthy church. I write outlines notes for each sermon, 6-8 pages, and send to many people. They can use my notes along with the TY video (or FB) to rehearse the sermon again. This was started in late Mar 2020 and continues. Interest in getting the notes and replaying the sermon is gaining much interest. Everybody agrees that a second pass through picks up so much missed the first time. In our "microwave" mentality, some still want to invest the time to leverage the preaching material.

    The "holistic" approach might be fine and dandy if your church teaches salvation only by saying a prayer but it does nothing for churches whose plan of salvation encompasses things like baptism or life and practice. For such churches the only way for a person to be fully Christian is to engage in the local church, get baptized, and participate in the activities of the church. You can't do that couch serfing at home. The strategy is fine for non church ministries. But if you want a living thriving church the only way to accomplish that is to be a warring church that actually Hits the streets and reaches for souls. Churches that have becoming knitting clubs for effeminate and emasculated men will die out. Conversion is the ultimate goal. Not inspiration. Or community. Or entertainment. Or social demonstration. Anyone who puts these other things ahead of conversion will lose members as they should.

    Hello everyone, I can't quite articulate it but something in my spirit does not feel right about the point of this video. I think it has to do with the idea of adapting to cultural trends. In today's culture instant gratification is prevalent but something feels wrong with shortening a message given directly by God to the pastor. I think as long as the pastor goes back to God and asks God if it is ok and God say yes, then it's all good but I think it is important to realize that by the pastor asking God, the pastor is acknowledging that it is not the pastor's church but it is God's church. And, it is not the pastor's message but it is God's message. Much love to you all especially to all pastors and thank you for all you do wherever you serve❤🙏☝️❤

    I agree with R ... this is another method of modifying our belief system, change the way it is presented to match the culture. God will not ask about how many views the church got. He will ask about your evangelizing methods. Did your church reach out to as many as it could as often as it could. WE do not save anyone. We do however share our faith and again, let the Holy Spirit do His work. To espouse a focus on outcomes is backwards. God probably would prefer to have a church to be 180 degrees out from how culture acts or receives information than try to make itself acceptable. What did Peter do after being beaten and told to stay away from the temple. He went right back to work and did not modify his approach. Neither should any church at any time. Easy believing... not biblical ever. One last thing, the epistles and the Old Testament were not made easier to read to meet the needs of those who were illiterate. God's word alone is powerful enough on its own.
