Lol it is safe..and they are on land with paramdics.. it would take 6 min of no oxygen for the brain to truly die. Even drowning in a pool with a lifeguard on duty is almost impossible. Now if you were completely alone then yea.

@S. O. this isnt dangerous.. your body will cave and pull the plug long beofre you truly need air. If your body can hold its breath for 2 min your body will cave around 1.30 min mark. No matter how hard you try to push it further no matter how hard you try your body will cave long beofre you do any damage to your self. You pull the plug thinking you reached your limit but in reality you still had another 15-25 secs. Plenty of time for water to drain. Even if you think you exhausted your time to last second. Garunteed your body will still hold out another good couple of seconds. Unless your held down under water by force until you truly reach your limit and drown. Try holding your breath if you have the will power which very few people do the most you can do is pass out. These people on fearfactor cannot will themselves to hold thoer breaths till they pass out. Hence they will always pull the plug long before they are in true danger

@@Hater20X NOT TRUE AT ALL.Yes, 6 minutes with no oxygen to the brain would cause damage, but even 3-5 minutes without oxygen and brain cells start dying. But thats not even the worst part, any inhalation of water IS DEADLY. Thats why drowning victims who have been saved, can die a few hours or days later (Dry drowning or pneumonia from irritation or other conditions, etc). The chances are small, but even a 1/15 chance of cpr mortality rate, its not safe.

Drink like your life depends on it jeez. These guys drink 2 sips and be like: yo im good.

Angel Lampton Basically it is made and it works as the one you can see in this episode. It is a box made of glass and metal, the head of the victim is stuck in it, water fills it and the victim drowns. The main thing about this trap in the film series is the fact that it wasn’t meant to have any escape route since the victim is locked, his head is stuck in the box and there’s no way for him to open the box nor free himself. That is why as he recalls having a pen in is pocket his only way to survive is sticking it in his throat performing a sort of rudimental tracheotomy on himself in order to be able to breathe anyway. Regarding the name I think it is usually just called “water box”.

That is so inhumain. I passed out underwater as part of training a few times and it is really awful, even when knowing it might happen and being trained for that kind of situation. Those people seemed to go in there with no idea of what to do whatsoever. Also best tactic is not to drink at all and try holding your breath as long as possible. Remaining calm is worth a lot more than the tiny amounts you drink.

See no. I remember watching Fear Factor, and loved it as a kid, when Joe Rogan was hosting. Because back than they actually dealt with more phobia fears than with actual death scare fears. Now they did do daring things back than too, but they mostly worked with people whose fears were cockroaches, spiders, worms, bugs, etc. That's when the show was great.
