@codeymartindale2195 in 15 games lamar had 3127 yards. 36 TD to 6 int. 1206 yards rushing with 7 TDs. So in 17 games, this seems very doable. It's also not very close. Hell - Cam rookie year was 4051 yards 21 TD 17 Int. 706 rushing and 14 TDs. So I expect him to be closer to Cam's rookie year. Less int because I expect less passes. But I also expect some very big plays to pierce and pittman.

And there’s nothing more important for an inexperienced rookie than to have confidence. It’s taken Fields 2 seasons to finally get that confidence. And sure, a big part of it was lacking weapons and play-calling, but if you rewatch early fields games he was very unsure when to run and when he did it was lackluster. He was nervous about making mistakes as a thrower as well so wouldn’t throw. Richardson oozes confidence naturally. So yes, inexperienced, but he’s significantly farther ahead because of it.

I liked Anthony Richardson coming out but I don’t like this “let’s pretend he was good in preseason” kind of thinking. He looks super athletic and entertaining. He also missed wayyy to many passes and reads. Ik he’s inexperienced but some of that was bush league QBing. He’s such a freak athlete I think he’ll find success but his throwing is far worse than Lamar, Josh Allen , Hurts when they were coming into the league

  • @ndcoltsfan

Richardson elevates this team to over 4 wins. As a Colts fan, that’s all I can ask. I’ve been an AR-hater after watching him live twice and seeing each game at Florida, BUT he is better than I thought he’d be, albeit against preseason defenses. Even as a rookie he’s an upgrade from what we’ve had. I think Steichen “fixes” him - Josh Allen is the exception but let’s see what the Colts can do to do it with AR

  • @gabesoto9301

Unless AR is genuinely horrible throwing 3+ INTs a game, I’m not going to overreact to his rookie year. The people in the Colts building understand this is a multi year process, this year is simply about reps for him. And as a whole, it’s a building year for the Colts with a new HC and QB. If they suck, they suck but hey man, Marvin Harrison JR to the Colts is a very real possibility next year.

He is certainly very inexperienced and has some accuracy issues. But the raw potential he possesses is off the charts. Just watching him play, the arm, the quick release, the size. If he finds his feet quickly, he will be incredible. I see similarities with Allen and Cam. I reckon he will be prove to be the best quarterback prospect in this class within the next 3 years. However, I can also understand how the lack of experience is off putting for some. Yet if he has the talent and the Colts are giving him the starting position straight away. I think he can only learn and grow from that. We all seen what happened when Trey Lance was languishing on the bench in SF.

No one is mentioning, he didnt progress while watching for 2 seasons under a good offensive coach. He also could not beat out 2 other QBs for playing time despite his physical skill. That should be very telling about his ability to process information and ability to learn. He needed.....needed another year in college yet he came out early while having a day 3 grade at the time. Yes, he rapidly rose based on his "potential" and looked 'smart' for being a top 5 pick. That has to be a factor into evaluating him.

Good offensive coach? Florida had one of the worst offenses in all of college football with some of the worst offensive play calling i've ever seen. Not only that, but you don't get better by watching. Especially behind bad QBs. You just don't. You can learn the scheme more without hiccups because you have more prep time -- but if the scheme is bad then it doesn't matter how long you warm the bench. Florida fucking SUCKED.

Let's stop anointing Anthony Richardson the next great quarterback while at the same time and stop presuming he's a bust.... He is what he is. Athletic as hell while throwing 35% against the Eagles 3rd stringers. He is severely inaccurate and inexperienced. MAYBE he develops, maybe he doesn't. Funny you mentioned his 35% completion. He had 3 drops in that game (5 total) and the one ball that was over turned he had a defender draped all over him and the ball still got close to the receiver. Yes it was their 2nd and 3rd string but we know he had the least amount of starts then all the rookie qbs and he's going to miss some throws but we really gonna give stroud and young a pass? They were supposed to be the natural throwers of the ball and they looked sloppy even more then Richardson
