I’m from California and thinking of moving to Fayetteville. $320,000 is an awesome price for a home!! The beautiful homes that you are showing would be well over $1 million in California. What a fantastic place you all live in 😊

if you think 320k is awesome you have a really bad perspective on what a good price for a home is.
The change to meet Vidvulture in person should be the top selling point.

I don't get what you mean, can you explain?
Don’t bother. People flooding in from other states leaving nothing to rent or buy unless you can afford $3,000+/month + utilities. Large homeless population, break ins, and a meth problem.

I hear what you are saying, I have found that to be a perspective (not the meaning the $$ amount, all the others) many people from other cities don't experience NWA that way.

@@LivinginArkansas that persons right I've had a gun pulled on me in traffic there before by a gangster looking black guy.
My father’s birth certificate says “Dover” but only because there wasn’t a hospital in Fayetteville in 1918. He only had two years of high school before he and his daddy were forced to find work elsewhere during the Great Depression. The Dust Bowl didn’t hit Arkansas but the effect was the same. The last time my father went back to see relatives in Arkansas was on leave during WWII. He never took my family there.
Super awesome to hear from another local to Washington about your take on the NW Arkansas weather, my husband and I are moving to the state this summer and we are very excited about the warmer weather and nice colors.

Then don't move there- and surely don't bring your state's ideology with you!!
This is a BAIT-AND-SWITCH video. The title is VERY misleading. The primary reason you don't want to move to Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas is because you will NOT make any friends here. The transient people that are moving in are hit or miss; and the natives aren't interested in making new friends because they grew up with the friends they have now and simply don't have the time nor energy for someone new. Also, it is expensive to live here--you will not find a house for under $250k that doesn't need another $25k to repair. Cash buyers bid anywhere from $10k-$25k over asking.

That's so true! I came from Colorado I hate the whole state! Not friendly. I have 1 real friend I trust here and he's not from here.
Unless your life revolves around the local football team theres nothing here aside from bad food, choices of walmarts, cars with frat and sorority stickers driving poorly, texans, californians and other carpetbaggers. Very hot and humid 6 months and cold and windy the rest, very bleak due to lack of evergreens aside from cedars. Ticks rain from the sky, chiggers if you look at tall grass. No reasonable housing either if you made it here 10 years ago at least there was cheap housing. And this city never was ready for the increase in population and traffic. From loose cattle to californicated very quick. Very poor subsoil and under engineered foundations, many houses are sinking and tearing at the seams. Also the host to bikes blues and barbeque for a week. If you like Portland, Seattle, Austin etc you'll love it here turning into one of those cities faster than predicted. There are many worse places to live but Fayetteville isnt all that special, anywhere outside of fayetteville is better these days

I like east of NWA near Jasper area, such beauty out there
I live in Fayetteville now! I make just under $18 an hour and can't afford a one bedroom apartment, not to mention a house to raise my kids in. The economy here has gone to crap! If you like to spend money on things that are not necessities, don't move here unless you make 6 figures a year. Then, be prepared to see homeless people panhandling for money at almost every major intersection and meth addicts everywhere! Not to mention, that every hospital around has a almost completely incompetent staff. Honestly, once my family and I move from this place, we will never be back and I will not let my kids even go to college here. This place is dangerous and disgusting. Please consider this before you move here
Actually it depends on what you looking for. Fayetteville is good for nature, silent life . But I agree with your other points. Thanks for the video!

Y’all confused me with the “don’t move to Arkansas” title. Your video was informative.
Awesome 👍 I am relocating there in March 2023 from Bellevue WA! 👍
I am a native to Northwest Arkansas. I loved growing up here. However, the Northwest Arkansas you see and hear about today is completely different than 20 years ago. Corporations and high rent/high real estate prices have turned this place sour. Addiction rates are high, and despite all the money flowing in for commercial real estate, there are no legitimate in-patient treatment options in the area. The housing situation has resulted in homelessness and crime rate to spike. The mental health resources for the community are very limited. Social workers have incredible case loads and very low salaries. MS13 and other gangs recruit teenagers to commit violent crimes in the Springdale and Rogers area. Law enforcement doesn't have the funding they need to combat crimes being committed. There are only two jails in the area and inmates are sleeping on the floors. What was once a beautiful, forested area of America has basically turned into a giant Walmart parking lot.

Please don’t move to NWA anymore, way too many people here already, rent is high and hard to find, weather is crazy we go from super cold to flooding rainy to crazy 100+ degrees hot , there are a lot of Homeless people already every where and panhandlers, not that many activities unless you are at the university, is beautiful yes, but if the area continues to grow that too will be gone!!!

I will say as a resident of south Arkansas, yeah lot of state is pretty bad. But NW metro is much more progressive. As an example, I was visiting during pride week. Lots of rainbow flags all over. Not something you will find in most of the state.

Misrepresentative. Housing crisis here. Insane rent hikes. Gentriification. Town ruined by fast influx and TONS of tree clearing and mindless construction. All my friends are sick about it. I am moving because of it. Greed, greed, greed.
