Thank you for that great video. I’m a British person moving to Calgary start of next year due to Calgary being so big and being a construction worker, working different locations I want to drive. I only have a learners license in UK, any knowledge on how I could obtain a license to drive?

Well…I am a Calgarian who has recently left. Born there and lived there for 50 years too. My career has taken me across Canada, so I know the country well. What I like: 1. Broadly speaking, or overall, it is as good as it gets for city living in Canada. But I’m not so sure that’s saying much. the city wins Whalen compared to other Canadian cities. 2. Sunny 3. Recreation activities like skiing, biking, and walking are worthwhile. What Concerns me: 1. The city is in decline, as is urban Canada. 2. The economy and job situation. It’s a hire fire culture, consequently jobs are unstable. The lack of open conversation about this is frankly weird. 3. Lack of community and high levels of apathy. As a consequence, the city has bad government And the associated problems are emerging quite rapidly. 4. It’s too expensive. Calgary is not cheap. 5. Too much driving and lousy and dangerous transit.
