Originally opened in 1984 as The Zoo Northwest Florida, the zoo was renovated and reopened as the Gulf Breeze Zoo in 2010. Situated between Navarre and Pensacola, Florida and just a short drive from the tourist destination of Destin, the zoo showcases many animals from around the world including kangaroos, lions, alligators, western lowland gorillas, and rhinos.
