I have a question

Glad to know that Gedonia is getting a sequel, that game deserves it. And as person who loves fantasy open worlds, i loved the list! thanks

It doesn't even have a name yet, but the project Studio Pixel Punk (devs of Unsighted) is currently working on looks out of this world. It's been blowing my mind with every update, and it seems like it'd be a good fit for this list.

Great list as always! Think I added 7 new games to my wish lists (and some mentioned here were already on wishlist from before!)

I'm perhaps most excited for Combustion. 'Cute meets grim sc-fi' is my favourite aesthetic, so when you mix that with an action-RPG, I'll be there.

What a list! Can't wait to play a lot of these.

I'm currently enjoying Svarog's Dream, and man do we have lots of open world ARPGs in the oven. I'm even waiting for V-Rising to release, and I'm yet to start Morbid the Seven Acolytes to meet the sequel. So glad that the Big Bad Bosses are still at an all high in the ARPG genre. Showa American Story amazingly reminds me of GodHand lmao.

The video is great, I even added several to my wish list on Steam. But... is the video about indie strategy games (mainly RTS pixel art) about to be made?

Morbid and Showa look great

Casually waiting for more games like Ember Knight, Crosscode, Astral Ascent, and Chained echoes. Top games over the last few years for me, out did everything besides god of war.

Illusion Lands seems to have gotten dark. Been waiting for an update on the release of that "Prologue" demo for the entire year. Hopefully it's still on track. Bygone Dreams was featured in the last Steam Next Fest, and the demo was very neat, it's one of my most anticipated games now. Biwar and Buramato are 2 upcoming games drawing from Indonesian mythos. In the same vein of weird and colourful, there's "Dead Flamingo" Where Winds Meet and Project: The Perceiver are 2 Chinese projects I'm most curious about at the moment. Hopefully they get Steam pages soon, so I can wishlist them and stop confusing them with the other half-dozen wuxia soulslikes.

VA Proxy - Great opening and looks really dynamic. Stormright - The action looks potentially very visceral. Where Winds Meet - Wushu and visuals really stand-out. Enshrouded - Hard to make out how much building vs combat? And how deep? We Kill Monsters - I'll take your word for it, it does give off a different focused vibe so maybe stalking and tracking and combat will all blend together. This is not just an action-packed genre but a fiercely competitive genre with so many strong titles in the pipe-line. I think VA Proxy impressed me the most with such an awesome entrance and sense of scale and movement in the footage.

Would not count Lost Soul Aside as an indie game when Sony is directly publishing it

It's kind of weird seeing you say Anima Song From The Abyss is trying to replicate the "anime artstyle", when the same studio also made Anima Gate of Memories (also crowdfunded and even has a character voiced by Moist Critical) in 2016... doubly weird you mentioned the info about the table top but not about the previous Anima games

Also can’t find the listing for where winds meet looks awesome is it just no available on store fronts yet?

Game based on Anima Tactics? Awesome!

I hope FERA isn't exactly the same like with Monster Hunters crafting material system. I got myself a game or two and at some point I hated that I often enough got nothing for several 1-2 hour sessions. I would be happy if it feels different, but it looks nice. I admit I liked the reaction of the person you saved.

Can we have a sequel to Shattered - Tale of the forgotten King please?

I've been waiting for lost soul aside for 8 years. I doubt it will come out this year, but we'll see.

The most unique looking game here is combustion, the rest of them just… they all can fit into two categories: cartoony-ish either Genshin or Zelda style, or realistic. But besides their looks, and those are really the only two separations, they all look sooo similar in gameplay.

Hey I can’t find lost soul aside on steam was it canceled? Edit: nvm looked it up PlayStation stinks why they doin a timed exclusive lol

Lots of interesting proposals here, but seriously.... Even if they say they only inspire themselves a bit in the souls series, it's more than obvious that thet try to make more souls games.... I mean yeah, they're awesome games! I loved them! But just as they were the revolution on their era, i think it's time to move onward!

Fufufu, not a single formally isometric game that would be pleasant to look at, let alone interesting...So I am waiting PoE 2.0)

VA proxy looks good! --- this one is a sewage like .. i'll still give it a try since it says it's a Nier / devil may cry inspired game lost soul aside i may give bygone dreams a chance.. as long as it's not a sewage like. buramato - .... bullet abyss .. i'll try it out, but no promises combustion monolith: requiem of the ancients - metroidvania, and sewage like ... skip where winds meet anima song from the abyss - metroidvania , sewage like ... skip .............bro you officially broke a record here! 8/25 ... after checking now it's more like 5/25 ... thus no records were broken... obviously all else skip these aren't "action RPGs" these are mostly sewage like.. i'll add my picks on an external note .. since i doubt i'll find them on steam if you think "elements" has a name that will make it a nightmare to search for ... try out looking for a game named "unfamiliar"! unfamiliar is a PC game December 15, 2019, literally about playing as a magic cat! a very relaxing game... sadly a nightmare to look for! games that "looks like genshin impact artstyle" are named "cell shaded art style games [looking like a cartoon] and the first game in the history to be created with this art style pioneering it altogether was the [dream cast] game (Jet Set Radio) we are talking here abut a game from June 29, 2000. the art style used by "the walking dead tell tale series, border lands, genshin impact, and others" is named cell shaded.. and if you must name it referring to a game .. then all these games' art style would literally be named "Jet Set Radio - art like"

You keep saying furry when I think you mean anthropomorphic. Which funnily enough, the PSX style anthropomorphic title was the most interesting game here along with Dungeons of Hinterberg. 🙂
