It’s very similar in no squads theater…that very first game with randoms. Just pass the rock whenever they get open…& by game 2 they no longer play so selfish. People are more worried about padding their stats than getting a good teammate grade.

I’m a SG and average 40 points and 1 assist. Why? Cause bum 🥷’s sell me all the time. People get mad that I take all the shots but if I’m averaging and shooting above 70% then what’s the problem? Sit your ass down. It’s funny because 80% of the time my points come directly from assists. ☠️

This is the sad truth. As a PG in the Rec no one cares if you can score. They don’t necessarily even want you to create for them because they never stop moving. They just want the ball. Funny thing is if you given the ball up as a PG and get open, chances are you don’t get it back.

It is true, I've been on the court where the 1-4 wanting to "play point guard" nobody wanted to spot up, nobody wanted to lock up their matchup, nobody wanted to slash. Everyone just wanted the ball, dribble for 18 seconds and if they weren't open pass the ball with 5 seconds left

Another thing, okay so random rec as a pg people like to play fast paced. So just advancing the ball around helps with that fast pace if people see you playing super slow screen and roll constantly people are gonna get mad. Of course you need to play slow sometimes but passing just helps with the pace in general you’ll have your opportunities to play how you want to play but just keep the pace high and have good ball movement.

Do you think Kyrie dribble style is necessary for random rec? I've tried it a couple of times but prefer pro dribble style. You think it's worth dropping the swb on your 6'4 build and put the stats elsewhere?

When I’m pg, I slow down the game a lot & I dictate how the defense plays. I get my teammates open & sometimes put them in spots they don’t expect to be. I do everything I can to have them score & then my turn comes. It’s not that difficult to feed everybody cuz that’s how you play team basketball.

90% of the time, if you pass the ball to the open man, your team scores and you’ll win. Even when me and two of my mates play squad rec, we get out with a 2 man that tries to play a 2v5 and we go down 10, they start passing us the ball and we suddenly up by 10. I don’t under the mf that try to play 2’s in the rec man. I think the only exception to not passing someone the ball is if they have an AI on them, but even then it can still work

If you are trying to play PG in random rec learn how to embrace the chaos, have some go to move that can get you some quick easy buckets. It's really hard for most pgs to be able to look for their shot while also seeing when to hit a teammate on an open shot/cut. But it all comes with reps of playing that game

Sometimes random rec guys are just gonna complain. It's like they come on just to start a fight. I was in a game the other day 8/8 as the pg and had 4 assists(I avg about 9 or 10 I think in mainly solo rec). We were up 40 in the 3rd quarter. I was moving the ball so everyone had 6+ shots. Two guys had more than I did. Yet the SG started screaming at me about how "You're a PG! I shouldn't have more assists than you! The PF wants more points!" The PF was 1/7 at the time after missing 4 wide open 3s that I hit him for. I was like "i'm 8/8 on wide open shots. Two of yall have more shots than me and I'm moving the ball so who care's about assists. We're up 40 and Everyone is eating. I'd have more assists, but It's not my fault he can't make an open shot." I was still in the wrong and then got iced out by the SG and PF the rest of the game. Sometimes you just can't win with these dudes as a PG.🤣
