This was really good! I especially liked the side-by-side of the filler wire being contaminated. I've seen my wire glow and sparkle like that before and I never knew what was causing it. Thank you!!! How did you film this by the way? I mean, what kind of darkening filter did you use? Your footage is some of the best I've seen on the internet. Well done.

Very good tips . The way you show the fillet wire being contamined without shielding gaz helps me a lot . It's obvious but it hadn't crossed my mind .

Great video Mike!!! I was watching Bob on a video he did with Blue Demon stainless steel flux core mig wire. I was wondering if this would work on stainless steel like you did in this video? Can you try it on some stainless steel pipe and see if you don't need to back purge it? Thank again ManCub!!! Flame On!!!

Hey mate I have just started using my tig welder...it's a cheap Chinese type 200 a dc...problem is it's acting like a plasma cutter way too aggressive...I feel the polarity is wrong...how do I fix this as it has the pin type and can't be swapped over

Tips for tig welding some sch 10 304 ss pipe to mild steel flange, such as gas sheilding, & diameter filler wire! I do belive i read to use a 309l as filler but other than that im not exactly to sure! I've just registered for advanced welding classes but need to get my car back up & operating with a new turbo although i need to sawp exahaust manifolds since the stock set up is pathetic on the cruze with it's many flaws & i figured I'd be better off upgrading rather than spending close to 1k for a 12oz sized sack of turd! Please & TIA for any assistance!

A tip when using .023 mig wire cut a good length off your roll the put one end in a vise the other end in a dril... pull tight on wire as you twist the wire with tenson on it.. pull on wire as you twist untill it brakes.. your wire is now straight and no more bending or flexing wire...

I think another similar approach that should work is to replace the drill with vice grips. Smack those pliers with a hammer to stretch the wire slightly. I've also used this technique to straighten tubing and it works like a champ.

2x the lens size. So a number 6 is 12 cfh maybe a little higher is a good rule of thumb. Too high and it can wash the puddle or waste shielding gas.

I think arc length is even more important than keeping your filler inside the gas shield. I think noobs pretty much *always* have too long an arc. (I sure did. Still do, I think!)
