Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼
We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it...we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼
Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻
Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life...all you need to do is make the choice!

For health tips also, I travel with my Special Needs daughter, and since she wears Pull Up Diapers, I started buying them for me for traveling. We take Nice Hot/Warm Showers and Put Two or three of those Pull-Up Diapers on with an Overnight Long Pad, which are more absorbents, and that way We have Our Fluids, without worrying about Peeing all over ourselves when We are waiting in line, or inside the Airplanes, and is easy because I noticed that I just take Out the Pad Out and both Diapers are still DRY as Soon as we get to the next Airport. It Helps a LOT.

@@jenniferlorence1950One Pull-up isn’t enough? I would think that would be uncomfortable? I itch just thinking about it. 😂 Having said that your tip makes a lot of sense. A few years ago I flew from San Francisco to Chicago. I was running late and I didn’t have time to pee before boarding. The seatbelt sign don’t go off the entire flight. I guess the fear of peeing all over myself and the seat enabled me to hold it. But I was miserable. A pad wouldn’t have been enough. But pull-ups would have helped. Thanks for the tip.

Intentionally being dehydrated just to skip the toilets is a bad idea. It increases your risk of blood clots and other health problems from sitting still in the dry pressurized air.

I Seriously Just Wear Two Adult-Pull Up Diapers with two Overnight Pads, which are more Absorbent, and that Way I Avoid the toilets as much as Possible, and Since I usually Wear Loose Clothing to Travel, that Helps Nobody Noticing I am Wearing them!!!

Yeah it’s definitely not a good idea to take it to extremes. But I think most people would be ok avoiding liquids for a few hours before a flight (not a doctor though). Chugging your water bottle before going through security is also something I avoid.

I chug a LOT of water before I even leave for the airport and get there early so I wind up having to go to the bathroom at least once. It hasn't failed me yet.

If you don't mind, I'd like to include add-ons to your tips: The wifi isn't free? Call your cell phone provider and ask if they connect your data in the destination city. Or if they have a lounge for their customers to use a WiFi hotspot. At the very least, ask if there's a cheap connecting fee to use for the length of your stay. Some have this and some don't. Again, check before you leave. The tip about running back to the counter if the flight is cancelled? I say, make sure you get out of your seat and start walking (don't forget your bag/purse!) ASAP even if the flight attendant physically stops you. Stand perfectly still and don't say anything. Chances are they won't make you walk back so you already got ahead of 50-60 people! IF they allow you to walk off the plane, RUN. I'm serious. RUN RUN RUN like Lola (yes, i saw the movie! 😁). It makes a difference. Did that once and I was out of breath because of my heavy-as-hell backpack. It was 95 degrees and the Texas heat cooked me badly but I was SECOND in line, not behind 40 or 50 people. Oh, and BE NICE. There's no need to scream at the ticket agent and call his/her mother filthy names. It's NOT their fault the flight got cancelled. They have NO control over that. I tried hard to be calm and patient and told her I was willing to do anything to get to Switzerland. I was offered an overnight flight but I was too exhausted and begged for a later flight. She suggested 9 am the next day. I accepted and thanked her loudly before leaving. When I got to the plane the next day, two things changed: it was DIRECT to Switzerland! NO connections! And she upgraded me to business class! I still cannot help wondering if she did that because I was early and didn't give her a miserable time. Yes, I always bring Purell wet wipes with me. A checklist: going to the lavatory? Sanitize the LOCK (trust me, it's filthier than the toilet seat. I'm serious), the faucet handles, and of course the toilet seat. DO NOT DRINK THE WATER from the faucet. It is not always clean and the last thing you need is the trots or an angry stomach on a 5-hour flight. About to sit down? Where are you? If you have no window, then just do the arm rests, screen (if they have IFE) and the dining tray. Next to a window? Don't even touch it. Sanitize the handle on the shade AND around the window frame. Think about how many people have drooled and sneezed on that wall in the last 48 hours... Great video, just thought I'd add some extra stuff to your tips list.

I wonder if baggage handlers are ruining your locked bags…. I use ‘regular’ locks because anyone can buy TSA keys on ebay. Yes, you can jam a pen in a zipper and open it, but I still use regular locks on my bag on planes and in hotel rooms. Someone went through our bags at Bellagio in Vegas right after we checked in and were out for dinner. My good stuff was locked up, but still very irritating that someone searched our belongings.

I did hear from another blogger regarding getting bumped on a flight that you’re actually entitled to whatever the best offer they gave somebody else was but you just have to go out for that once you know what it is. So if you were the first one to volunteer and got a $100 voucher but the last person to volunteer or actually get forced to do it gets an international flight anywhere then you can ask for that as well. I have not tried this yet so I cannot speak from experience, but that is what another travel blogger said.

I seriously believe it's dumb blind luck they haven't had a crash yet. O'Leary doesn't really care about his customers' safety. Seen an interview where he refused to answer questions about his pilots being too fatigued to fly and kept interrupting to verbally promote his airline. Wow, he's a psychopath.

Trouble with airports there are no place in some new ones to rest to catch the early long haul ass flights from certain places like Canada to get far east or far south, too many metal benches and arm rests sticking up so you can't rest comfortably for 5 hours before starting to line up for international flights

My bag has an integrated lock. Are you suggesting that it should be left unlocked and saran wrapped?

  • @ProjectUntethered

    @ProjectUntethered

That’s a good question! I don’t have any experience with a bag like that, so I can’t say for sure. But Saran Wrap would probably be a safer option if you’re scared of the TSA breaking your bag. On the other hand, you may be fine, I don’t want to scare you!

I gave up and bought a new bag. It has no integrated locks on it since they'll just destroy it. I despise the TSA. They are the worst government bureaucrats right after the evil nazi ATF.

Saran Wrap screams “Open Me!” Instead of getting the zipper pulls damaged you run the risk of TSA cutting through your bag as they knife through the Saran Wrap.
