Don’t make the same mistakes I did! [Tips for Your First Scale Crawling Competition]

Фильм және анимация

In this video, I want to help you prepare for hitting the rocks and getting to know the RC community! Whether you’re new to the hobby, or a seasoned comp-veteran, I’ll lay out nine different tips to help you maximize your fun and minimize bad times out at your next scale event!
If you’re new to the RC rock crawling hobby, or just need a refresher on what you should be thinking about as you’re packing up the car for a day trip out to the middle of nowhere, I hope this video can help you avoid a few mistakes that can be huge bummers! Remember, we’re all out to have a good time when we go to these events, so keep these nine rules of thumb in mind and I think you’ll succeed at just that! Also, if you forget something or break a part that you don’t have a spare for-ask around! Usually someone will have that part, or can think of another way to keep you having a great time.
Let me know what you think in the comments down below! Have another idea for a video? I’d love to hear what you’ve got, so let me know!

All good advice and many people are caught with your pants down. Lol most of us deep Michigan country boys are usually prepared to stay for a month. Rule of thumb where I live. You could be trapped in 10 feet of snow or trapped in a mud bog !! or buried in sand. With no phone service. Lol I love this life. I’ve been cruising around your channel. I like what I see and I will be checking it out more often than I have been. Keep up the good work.

Thank you!! Hahaha I don't know what we've got it as bad as ya'll do up there, but the elements can certainly turn on us pretty quickly here in Utah as well. Gotta love embracing nature and enjoying the outdoors to the fullest! Much appreciated, though! I'll do my best 🤘🏼🤙🏼🍻

Enjoying the content, keep it up! If editorial restraints allow, some ambient audio from the trail would be nice on the longer uploads. Another absolutely “To Do” I’ve found with these events is make sure your 1:1 rig is prepared. Spare tires in particular, a lot of dummies burn pallets and construction trash out there. For RC, spare plastic knuckles and axle housings on hand keep you in the fun.

Thank you very much!! And that’s a great idea, I think I will start trying to capture more of the audio from the runs as well so you can hear the trucks working. And that’s also another fantastic tip, I totally agree!!

Nice job buddy. Wondering why they didn't use the half tennis balls for the gate markers. They don't move like those tiny cones so no moving them with dirt or sticks.

I still wonder the same thing myself! I think once 801RCC committed to the 200 gate set of cones, there was no turning back 😅 but we do use mini tennis balls or practice golf balls cut in half for the comps that we set up-they do work much better, and you can place them at much more intense angles for better gates!
