    My only shower drain issue is my strainer gets dirty real quick causing a clog so I have to rinse it so often.

    You're smart for learning this stuff young. I always had boyfriends most of my younger life. Now I'm a single middle aged woman and having to learn this stuff! It's stressful but it feels so good when I manage to do something and avoid calling a professional. And next time I'm in a relationship, he won't have to do everything for me, lol.

    So glad it helped. I moved recently and did this exact thing on 2 drains here. Nastiness came out, but now they loo spotless and drain like new again. Chemicals are a waste of time

    If you put vinegar down the drain, after the baking soda, it should react with any undisolved soda and bubble, loosening up debris and hair. Heck, pour straight baking soda down before the vinegar. It's amazing what that can knock loose.

    Not drain related necessarily but bathroom related. 50/50 mix of vinegar and dawn dish soap. Best thing to clean your shower.

    Depending on the size of the batch, 1:1 is a LOT of Dawn. I used to use a lot too, then started adding only about 4 squirts in a cup or more of vinegar. Still gets the job done with minimal scrubbing.

    I ended up buying the $40 Rigid drain snake that attaches to a drill. Its a high quality tool that works extraordinarily well and pushes all that stuff through. Best of all it saves you a $300 service call to clear our a stuck drain!

    Have one,used it,pulled some hair,etc out and it’s still clogged.Will be trying baking soda and vinegar tomorrow. Even drano isn’t helping much.There may be some causing it other than clog.

    Those drain cleaning tools work great! The dollar store sells them for $1.25 and I use it on my sink drain all the time. I will try the shower drain next with your additional tips.

    Live in a newly constructed house about a 1 1/2 old now, i do exactly what you did as preventative maintenance on all my pipes about every 6 months the only thing i do different is Vinegar with the baking soda. Great tip look forward to the next video.

    Cool video, coil brush good idea to scrub it clean. My old house still had a drum trap on it, that baby drained so slow. After replacing it , I cracked it open to see what was inside. 60 yrs worth of hair,soaps.

    This will work sometimes, good video. I happen to drain and sewer lateral clear professionally. What you really want to do is run a power snake with a pig tail head down if the clog is further down near the stack. The method shown in the video is great for cleaning p traps however.

    I have a drum trap and it gets clogged up pretty easily. I used a snake and pulled out a huge fir ball loaded with soap scum. I replaced my drain grate with the TubShroom. Probably the first As Seen on TV product that actually works. I clean plenty of hair off of it every week and thankfully it no longer gets down my drain. No issues in over a year.

    Great video, that is definitely an effective technique, baking soda and vinegar also helps break debris up with hot water, I'm definitely going to look for one of those brushes though, that's a good brush to have on hand for many different things I feel like

    Soaps are made from oils. clean everything with dawn dishwashing liquid, cleans the soap crud that attracts hair ,dirt , skin, etc.

    I was told by a plumber to avoid getting grease down the drain in kitchen sinks and to use Dawn and hot water to keep the drains free flowing.

    I had been struggling with a bathroom sink that was plugged, worked on that think for years getting little bits out but it still drained slow. I finally seen the clog tool bought it and yes these things work fast & yes gross.
