But you mentioned in another video that reading a business newspaper is also a must. Can you give tips as to which sections to cover in Mint or any other business newspaper?

Hey Shwetha ji, I've got a question. While preparing for the CAT exam, would you advise to use a calculator? cuz a few topics demand extensive calculations ( for example averages and percentages), and it gets tiresome after a while. Also, how handy is the calculator provided on the exam day?

The calculator in the CAT exam is on screen. Personally, I felt it came into use only once or twice. It's better to solve it on paper, it's quicker that way.

Make a video on corporate life for an mba fresher. That would be too interesting topic with so much to cover and so less genuine content available online. Everyone is running after cat score but what will an mba from top b school will eventually lead up to. Want unadulterated and unfiltered perspective from someone as genuine as you so that we don't form fancy and ephemeral goals which will leave us unsatisfied when we see the truth.

Thank you! I started a bit late - somewhere around July/Aug but it's best to practice it earlier, you won't need to take notes after a point of time, it will become automatic!

If you can justify it, it's okay! My concern is that if the interviewers don't know about it, they won't be interested to listen more about it.

I don't think being an introvert can ever be a barrier in marketing/HR. The roles are managerial, they don't require you to be an extrovert by any means. Side note - I'm an introvert too!

For RCs, reading editorials are important, not books. Reading books can supplement, not substitute for newspaper reading.

Online articles help students aspiring to appear for CAT, for interview aspirants, it's best to refer to a physical newspaper as a base because it's difficult to achieve coverage using the online newspaper or the apps, you can use them to delve deeper into the news articles you read from the physical paper.

The reality is what is mentioned in the placement report, if you read it carefully, you will find the avg CTC as well as the average fixed component. I don't know why there's this misconception out there. The placement reports are 100% true

Helpful enough to cover our Gk/current awareness part of prep. Though I basically read 'The Hindu' on everyday basis but somedays I notice that am not interested in the same or deflected from it? Thank you so much, Ambika :) The lack of interest can be the case if you're not into GK since the beginning but the way I overcame it was to use newspaper just as a base resource. I would read an article and then watch a video on the topic immediately after. That helped me stay interested in the columns.

There's no special requirement really. An MBA is suited for any industry - the MBA you do from the IIMs is general MBA - it equips you for all sorts of roles.

They help by taking mock interviews, sharing about history/GK. But, honestly, their programs are not that effective. Most prep will be done on your own.

Hello Ma'am..I'm 23 years old and I completed my BBA LLB(Hons.) in the year 2020.I didn't appear for CAT 2020 coz I was not sure what to do. But now I'm very much motivated to do MBA..So will my gap year be a problem for my admission? And whats your take on self preparation? I'm an average student and I dont have money for CAT coaching.. You can surely self-prepare. Gap years are not an issue, would recommend watching the video on gap years! And for CAT 2021 there's an entire playlist.

Di..I have 2 important things to ask for 1) CAT exam essentially does not cover any GK question as such but reading news articles are going to help with the VARC section but some other exams like XAT have a dedicated GK section of 25 marks... so how to tackle that 2) I had seen the resume video (you have a spectacular one really!!) but in IIM interview specially for IIMA as you said there is limited info to be given like only a certain number of achievements and all...so if that interview form could be seen... Thanks!!

I am not sure how life is after non-IIMs but I'm pretty certain that unless you have some unavoidable reasons if you think you can crack the next time, it's best to retake CAT as you won't get to do MBA twice
