99% of the time, alcohol is the real problem. Having grown up with an alcoholic father,I know there is no such thing as a rational conversation with an alcoholic. When I'm in a camping area with a screamer, I don't hesitate, I'm dialing 911 faster than you can say it. Let the law handle explosive people. Too many people carry guns. ☮️

Alcohol is almost always a factor. I lived with an alcoholic husband who was very well educated, came from a good family, had a great job, and everyone OUTSIDE our house thought the world of him. In the meantime, I lived in hell on earth. It’s so sad. I’m now a widow because it finally killed him at 62 years old. Young people take heed.

Angry people steal from you. They steal your peace, self confidence, happiness, trust and your youth. They break off little bits of you until you are a mirror of their misery. PTSD lasts a lifetime. I watched it happen to someone I love. If this is happening to you, please don't waste your life with them. People say that life is short, actually, it's very long if you are with an angry person.

That was my dad, but after we settled in to camp, he was happy. Our best memories as a family were camping together. He once kicked my brother for forgetting the music he recorded for a friends dinner party. The host had a daminshed respect for him after seeing that, which made me feel better anyway.

Two years ago early in the morning my husband and I were on a walk with our dog in a semi remote (but popular )area. We were almost back to the parking lot when a man roared in and parked near us- rocks flying from him parking aggressively. My heart froze when I heard the man exiting his vehicle screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs (at no one as he was alone). Wasn’t sure if he was high on something or mentally ill. Too frightened to get to our vehicle to leave we called the police (my husband in his 90’s suffered from dementia so was not able to defend us in any way). Thankfully the police showed up and confronted the crazy guy. We left and never did find out what his problem was but it sure had us rattled.

I try to avoid large campsites because I have had some rude to awful people pull in and refuse to leave. I had a large older RV pull in to my large campspacevin Lake H and my gut told me to leave for the remainder of the night. I had a camp set up to show it was taken. Left around 3 am went to town, Denny's...when I returned my tarp, food camp bag full of food was gone, 2 jeep bags from my Rubicon...like 300$ worth of stuff stollen! So i will not allow anyone to stay. I will call 911 and get a. Sheriff to get them to leave!

I've noticed that people don't know they can't drink the same way at a higher elevation. They drink stupid fast and end up stupid drunk. Then they do stupid stuff and spend the next day recovering in whatever way possible, whether it's a hangover or repairing the stupid things they said. It's quite a stupid cycle!

  • @momnoah5

Good advice. Sadly, youth is wasted on the young now more than ever. You're right. The younger generation has trouble controlling their emotions all too often. The loss of the traditional nuclear family means that kids aren't being taught values, morals, social skills and how to deal with life. There aren't close grandparents and other relatives to help parents. Add in that way too many abuse alcohol or get on drugs as a way to avoid dealing with issues circles back to not being raised properly. It's sad. I have to admit that when I was younger, I had a very bad temper. It took a lot to get me to the point of losing it, but I learned to control it. It took hurting a friend to scare me into making myself control my anger. The friend had kept pushing me verbally, then physically and I kept walking away up to a point. Then he hit the last straw, and I fought back. After that incident, I vowed to myself I'd never hurt another. I haven't lost my temper like that since. I think that is part of why I never drank or did drugs. I never liked the taste of alcohol of any kind, and I never tried to acquire a taste for it. My parents were social drinkers, so I had access to much. I was allowed to taste many and even mixed drinks from 12 up. Now before anyone goes ballistic, it was a small sip to taste I was occasionally allowed to try to see what each drink should taste like. My parents would have a drink, wine cooler or a beer after work. Maybe a couple on a weekend. I never wanted to be out of control. Same reason I never did drugs. I saw too many others get into trouble with either or sometimes both. It IS a choice. You always have the choice to do the right thing. As for your temporary neighbors, if it sounds really ugly, phone in a call to the LE. You can use the non-emergency number if not comfortable with 911. Sometimes it is like my husband, and it is a quick flare up of all hot air. He'd never get physical. (He's learned to control it more as he's gotten older and even though it wasn't too common younger, it it is rare now.). Sadly, some people don't stop with the yelling and it can end badly. Stay safe!

Oh my. I had this happen down in Sonoita AZ last year. I had a sweet spot and I refused to move because a grown man was throwing an all-day tantrum at the campsite next to mine! At first it triggered my PTSD because I've been in domestic violence situations before. Then it just got me angry. This guy was throwing things and screaming and acting like a baby in a man's body. Ruining everyone else's peace because he didn't know how to handle his own emotions. He started yelling at everybody that was camping around them for staring over at him. Screaming "what are you looking at"? One RV moved after that, I refused. His emotional immaturity was not gonna control and manipulate me into leaving so he could have his way. That was my breaking point. 😂😂 I told him if he wouldn't be acting like a toddler in a man's body nobody would give him a second thought. 🤣🤣 I said "stop acting like a man baby and nobody will look at you!" 😂 My friends and family I told about it gave me heck for speaking up but I told them I was just done and I don't care if the guy had a gun or whatever he wanted to do I was just done listening to this child throw a tantrum. He needed to be embarrassed for his behavior..It reminded me of my ex-husband so bad. 😅 I went and reported them at the headquarters at empire Ranch and let them know just in case the cops show up it's because I called them. 😊 Eventually they left, and when I went down through another road later that week I saw they were still camped there just out from everyone else. I guess so he could throw his fits in private. I felt sorry for her but this behavior from him should have embarrassed her as well and I hope she is no longer with him. Made me feel sad for women ( and men) that might be out on the road stuck with a partner who's abusive. At least if you have a home you can leave in a car and get away from them. If your home is your car and you're limited to that lifestyle you're pretty stuck. I fear for abuse victims in this lifestyle. There is really no escape. 😢
