When a concrete company poured my 24’x40’ garage floor and was measuring for square, the guy holding the end of the tape was measuring the inside corner of the 2x4 while the guy reading the other end was measuring the opposite outside corner. Didn’t find out until 4 weeks later when the garage installer said the pad was out of square by 3”…so, I ended up adding a 2’ x 24’ slab at the back so the garage wouldn’t hang off. I’ve got a nice little porch for the dog kennel now. And no I didn’t hire them, the concrete guys were a sub contractor for the project…I got a decent discount after that mess 😅

Oh boy , first of all , let me apologize for the idiot mixer driver . I can say that cuz i was one for 29+ years . Only at the beginning of my career would i have not noticed or seen or been calm enough not to let the concrete pile up . A good mixer driver will flow the chute like a extension of his hand, always anticipate moving forward & backwards, never a big pile up . All that being said , it does take awhile to get good but holy cow that driver was blind & ignorant. But , i did laugh so hard milk almost shot out my nose . Thanks for the great videos & God bless America

Most concrete delivery companies do not let their employees get out of the cab at job sites any longer. Only for washout and that is not that common either. Most will not handle the chutes either anymore. So the rookie farmer crew is responsible and giving some direction... directions to the driver is the best it gets. So the source of the "mistake" is the crew.

Well why didn’t they just move the chute to the larger part on the other side of the partition. They could have cleaned that divider up after the pour. Trying to pour that narrow part separate was kind of foolish to me when the controls were not in back of the truck.

RODWEAVING! That’s called Rodweaving! My sisters an I helped our dad prepare for the concrete to be poured for mom and dad’s patio. Don’t ever help a machinist do something like Rodweaving! We had to weave each long sucker rod in and out (over and under) each short one. Then we had to wire them together at every intersection. And of course it was the hottest day of the year. 103F and the humidity was 76%! We have two older brothers. They were smarter than us and spent the day in air conditioning then came over the next day, when we were all finished. RODWEAVING!
