You can easily mount a laser sight on it as well as a flashlight combo if you like. I have the Hi Viz model that has glowing iron sights for easier target acquisition in low light or in the dark. I love that I can keep my Byrna SD Hi Viz loaded and not have the CO2 cartridge pierced until I'm ready to use it. The Kinetic rounds hurt a lot more than the eco rounds since it doesn't break on the attacker. Two or three hits are more than enough to drop someone on the ground in pain. The Pepperball Max rounds are no joke and will stop an attacker in their tracks for a good 25-30 minutes. I've had Pepperspray and Tear gas used on me while in the military and it isn't something I'd ever want to experience again.

Same here got use to tear/pepper while on duty (got sprayed 1 a month) i asked my wife to shoot me with the byrna pepper rounds to test it (she does not like guns but wanted something stronger and with more range than spray) .... She Drop me whit one hit i only could do 4 steps and i was barely functioning for good old 40 mins. A regular attacker is gonna bye bye on the spot. *Going to add the flashlight combo and laser sight good advice.

i have a tr 50 11 joule not a byrna but way more ammo types and can still use pepper balls crackhead charged up on me with a knife at a gas station i pulled it out told him to back up one more step and ofc he took a little more than one step so three pepper balls to the face and three steel balls to stomach chest area wouldnt of gave him steel but pepper didnt phase him at first the steel balls made him hit the ground and thats when the pepper kicked in no matter what less than lethal launcher your using always stack both rounds pepper and kinetics or steel especially helpful for the people hyped up on drugs alot of crack heads in my city and i mean alot and boy they love gas stations like a moth and a light bulb come to think of it they love light bulbs too lmao but in all seriousness these are great if you dont want to kill im against guns i own one but will always reach for less than lethal unless they have a gun themselves @@BinahAtala

I shot my EP model for the first time last night. Wow - it has more hitting power than I thought it would. I was highly impressed!

I’ve used the Eco-kinetic rounds recently in a video and they hit hard but they’re light. Projectiles of at least twice that weight will cause more pain.

My wife is a home inspector and I like the idea of a less than lethal option to keep the creeps at bay. It would be hard to prove stand your ground if you're not even in your own home. Hopefully this works when needed.

One guy tried to climb into a guys truck and used the byrna in his face and his cheek blew back. People overlook to absolutely aim for the face if you must. Everyone says the might be able to walk it off but not In Face. You’ll need reconstructive surgery

If you are dealing with a violent/angry person,... from what I just witnessed, ... That is just going to make them angrier.

I was just thinking this, They said it best in the beginning of the video. It's probably best when you're getting attacked by a small animal or a dog. But a person is just gonna get more pissed off. You would be better off just using pepper spray.

I'm noticing the co2 cartridges are smaller than the standard 12 gram co2 cartridges for pellet guns, what grams are they? How available are they? Co2 loses efficiency in colder weather, how much velocity is lost?

For someone who doesn’t have firearms training or who does not want to own a firearm for whatever reason this platform would at least give them a chance to escape a situation with a bad guy , with practice and pepper balls this could give you the valuable seconds you need. My daughter carries a P2P and shoots it often with inert powder balls , I have no doubt she could dump several in chest and face area and allow her to remover herself to safety, the pepper balls suck if you get hit in the face or neck area even if the doesn’t explode on impact (I was my daughters test dummy) and these balls hurt like hell ! And the pepper was not immediately effective but the pain Made me not want to approach her and when the pepper took effect it sucked as well . Better than a whistle or nothing at all.

This is why I appreciate youtube shorts, the testing is the very last 2 minutes lol

Yeah, but if somebody hasn't already said when the testing is you gotta do it yourself. He's just saying it's more convenient for watching through shorts than traditional longer format videos.

I go back and forth about investing into this system. Many people, including myself, question if this is able to stop someone from coming at you. I guess if you pumped 5-6 hard projectiles perhaps it could. I really like how some people will load up a mag with different projectiles such as hard ball, two pepper balls, and then more hard balls.

I got one for my wife and one for myself for Christmas. This has been the most informational video I've seen! I am a gun owner, but these seem like a much nicer alternative to having an actual concealed handgun. These are also TSA friendly, if packed in checked luggage (without canister loaded). For everyday carry, I'm loading 3 pepper balls, then 2 Kinetics. So, the first 2 shots are a warning, so to speak : ). Thanks, guys!!

It will be rather easy, you just have to to zero the laser to where the balls are shooting at the distance of your choice. I would use a distance of about 25ft to zero. Look on KZread for information on how to zero a scope, the fundamentals will be much the same!

How do you keep from getting sprayed with your own pepper spray?

Are there any holsters for it, Shoulder holster or appendix?

Yes there are holsters both waist and shoulder. You can also just buy a holster for a normal size 9mm and the Byrna will fit it just fine.

It would be nice if they made a mini CS smoke canister that was incorporated into a 3" 12 gauge shotgun shell, as a low velocity projectile to give someone the message to go away.

The light kinetic rounds hit with more joules than heavier rounds. The Byrna simply isn't powerful enough to launch heavy projectiles.

I was looking at these but went with the Umarex HDR 50. A fraction of the price and mods to pretty decent power.

The umarex 68 has double the punch and u can use metal, if u really plan on non lethal. That’s put u down for a while

I thought that less-than-lethal solutions were illegal over here? I remember trying to get pepper balls for my paintball gun and was told we couldn't get em. Definitely wanna check this thing out though.

I'm in California. I had to take a security guard license class + chemical certification to purchase pepperballs. (Byrna provides this course on their website). Most other states allow pepper ball rounds without certificate tho.

@@AjaxJP Byrna is the only company willing to do business with California when it comes to the Pepperball rounds. I spent 6 months researching all the various companies to see if they would sell to California residents and not one of them had any plans of working with California to sell here. Byrna was the only one to do something for us here. I hope our friends in Canada can get some kind of deal with Byrna to do the same thing there at some point as from what we're hearing, the gun laws there are getting as crazy as California's gun laws 😔

Noooo you will die, unfortunately you will need a lethal firearm, minimal 9mm or higher .45acp with a high capacity mag... you might panic ...so have a high capacity mag with high velocity hollowpoints😅

As far as I know, you do not need a license or permit to carry in 50 states . They are legal to have. From what I’ve been treading about them. I’ve just ordered mine

The problem with these is that the look like a gun. If someone points this at you, they may get shot. I have played paintball and a paintball leaves a nasty blunt trauma bruise. If a person gets hit in the eye with one of these, the eye would be destroyed. Pepper spray works about 30% of the time. When hit with pepper spray a person not sensitive to it or just pissed off would still come after you. I am a pistol instructor with many hour of training on when you can use lethal force and this gun (what it looks like) is just a bad idea.

This is only a good weapon when you hit someone in the face or someone who isn't wearing a coat

Not all democrats hate guns. I want this for self defense for an intruder and I'm getting a real gun as well. I live in the city in Oklahoma lots of crazy people been coming to my door and it gave scary vibes I had a person try to break in my bedroom window more than once. I can't have my kids get killed or myself because of an intruder or a crazy person in public.

Valid concerns…anything that is less than lethal is only a deterrent. Like many other things, it is but one tool in a toolbox. I will say that if someone dumped a whole mag on me, I would be rethinking my willingness to be an aggressor.

confirmed again...these guns don´t stop anybody. especially with some clothing on. if he had a jacket, he'd probably asked for seconds. nothing under 70 joule, better yet 100 joule should be considered for home defense.

I saw a lot of these videos, but I don't think this is a real life representation. There's one big difference between these vids and reality. The videos are made in a controlled environment. In real life there are things called "adrenaline & drugs". I wonder what happens if you throw that in the mix. My guess is, the attacker will keep coming at you even more pissed and convinced.

Whit kinetics? No doubt my wife shoot me with it and I took 3 and keep moving towards her (testing it to see if it worked, mind you im a military veteran) then we tested the pepper rounds, that did the trick and im used to tear/pepper but those rounds stopped me almost on the spot....so to me is a very good pepper alternative for someone who wants more range and that's it.
