Was a beast in his first season. Shame emery put him as CAM and busted his confidence. He probably doesn't fit arteta's philosophy now but is still a fantastic player. Hope he does well at atletico.

Kegan J 8-9 months ago and I probably would have agreed with you, but in terms of controlling our midfield Xhaka’s range of passing really helps dictate our play under Arteta. Whenever he has a shocker, the team generally plays badly (like against West Ham). I like Torreira’s tenacity but unfortunately I think it’s difficult fitting him into Arteta’s plans atm

Still feel like he has more to offer as he has not had that opportunity. We need to move Elneny instead of him. Hes more mobile and quick/aware than Mo. But if he goes we have to have Partey. The mid is shakey and wont be consistent without a steel in the middle. I can see anyone providing that assurance. Can you name one?

I understand selling him cause he doesn't seem to like England but his price tag is a joke, clearly a 40 mil plus player.

Arsenal's bosses are known to be very tighted-fist. we just extended our contract with aubameyang and hasnt sold any player but emi the goal keeper, it is hard to hope that we could buy any new player like aouar or partey

No way - Keep Willock and Nelson...you don't develope academy players and then sell them just because you think some other guy in Spain is better...they are both excellent players now and will get even better...

good that someone else also see his quality. he recovers a lot in Midfield. his reaction to get the ball back is top class for me. but can't deny some reports claim he wants to leave also. i just can wish him success in his career

Torreira is a detroyer and partey is a controller and not a destroyer. So playing the 2 in midfield will be a good partnership. That's how Arsenals midfield excelled during emery first season cos there was torreira(destroyer) Ramsey (Controller) and Ozil(the creater). This midfield combination made Aubameyang and lacazett scored more goals

If this compilation wasn’t of him already in an Arsenal shirt, I guarantee people would be saying he’s better than Partey, these clips are higher quality than all the Partey ones I’ve seen but Partey is new and shiny so he must be better! Torreira is class and he does fit our system, he can literally do Xhaka’s role, I don’t know where that myth that he can’t is coming from. I would have loved to see him with a full season under Arteta but that’s football. He’s just made it clear he doesn’t like it here in England so we need to replace him if he’s on the way out and Partey is a great fit.

Surely you don't understand football, toreira is a good defensive midfielder, but his range of passing is lacking, and Xhaka can provide that, & Partey can provide what xhaka & toreira give, so if we can get partey, that will be a huge upgrade from toreira

Yes man and the fees we get from his very low, we got a steal from sampdoria when we signed him... i think he suits italian league we should loan him to top italian clubs if possible like inter ,ac milan etc with option to buy at 35m.. This guy is a fighter, brave player he would regain his obvious value..even if the same dont buy him we get him back with confidence...he has a long contract we will still get the money we spent for him next year also for sure...

Torreia is our best midfielder. Hes never gotten a clean run of games. His vision is better than xhakas. He can play that role much better. His only lack is size defending in the box. Xhaka has improved much but he is still not the caliber that Torreia is. Not to mention this is a 24 year old. Not even hit his prime and we are so quick to get a new shiny toy to mistreat and ship off.

You're tripping you think he's better than Thomas.. he's good no doubt but Partey is much more of a difference maker when it comes to big games. Plus he's like 6'1" 185lbs compared to 5'6" 135lbs.

I really hope Arteta get to watch this video and see how great this player is. He can read the game so well and always prepared to tackle any player who has the ball. He is quick and skilful that by then we even think he is better than Kante. He can act as a competition to any defensive mid or fullback. There are games where we need to play more defensive and we can use xhaka partey and toreira. If we can keep faith in Pepe, we should even more place faith to this player. Sell guendozi and return ceballos. One last thing, he doesn’t make noise being a backup for xhaka or partey.

I think we should keep him. He's gone out on loan to a club with one of the best fitness and defensive development teams in world football. He'd be a beast when he comes back, imagine how solid we'd be with him and Partey next to eachother. Torriera to break up play and make interceptions, Partey to do the same but transition to attack. Then another midfielder to create.

Now, he with us. 💛❤️

Physical, Solid, can Sprint, pressed well and also a very good work rate. A shame he couldn't recover well after injury. Plus, ceballos and xhaka were doing so great at midfield. He wanted first team opportunities. We are getting a pretty decent price which can get us aouar or partey. so wish him good luck at atleti. It was fortune that didn't work. Otherwise he would do good for arteta as well

Don't know why Arteta let him out of the plan. Sometimes Arsenal need a player that can take back the ball as fast as possible and stop the counter attack of the opponent right away, then Torreira is best choice here. Partey is great but pretty sensitive with injuries

Agree that he is a player with great potential and skills as a CM. Selling him is probably a good reason because he doesn't fit Arteta's game plan. the element that Torreira brings to the team is not really part of how Arteta wants the team to play.

One thing you're forgetting is that he hasn't adapted to the country. He hasn't gotten used to the weather, the lifestyle, the language. And that's a big part of being good for a foreign club. Quality player but he hasn't gotten used to London. That being sad if he's up for staying at arsenal i'd say it would be a cheaper option to keep him and not sign Partey and sign Aouar instead. Then we can play 4-3-3 with Ceballos, Aouar and Torreira.

Torreria is a very underrated player at the club the lad is a beast I'd pick him over Partey in our current state Ceballos Xhaka and El Nenny are doing well keep up that form and squeeze torreria in a few games to gain confidence and we could actually have good line of midfielders.

I love his passion

No one is saying he isn't a good player, but he is not strong enough for EPL midfield battles. In EPL you don't get ref protection like in La Liga or Serie A for push/shoves and I have seen Torreira being targeted too many times by opponent midfielders and get dispossessed. It started to become a trend and Arteta opted for 3 at the back instead.

Not a mistake, his head is gone and he's not even half the player now that he was in these clips. The club is doing the best possible thing and getting rid to raise substantial funds, possibly for Partey who is levels above him and would make our team significantly better.

Torriera being short and bad reaction time in later seasons really made him fall down the selection list. And his constant willingness to return to serie A ,might have just made Mikel think about it . I really think Guendouzi can be a great ball winner . The guy has it all, got to be equal in terms of mentality

Feel bad for the man... He just needs confidence and a good run of games and he will be back to his best. And if he goes to Atletico Madrid he definitely will be back to his best, because of Simeone, plus this guy is young. Won't mind him going if it helps in getting Aouar.

Bring him back! If we want to compete with the likes of City we need a good squad. It would be foolish to let go of him and keep players like Elneny and Willock. I don’t get why everyone hates him so much, makes no sense. People say he was awful under Emery but everyone was awful under Emery which is why he got sacked. Besides all these clips were from the Emery era, for me he’s still welcome back into the squad. He would be levels above any lower end Europa, Carabao, FA Cup opposition, we need the squad for these competitions.
