Don't Fly With American Airlines!! My 52 Hour Travel Nightmare

Don't Fly With American Airlines!! My 52 Hour Travel Nightmare
Well the plan was to go home and spend a few days with my mom since I haven't been home in over 3 years... but unfortunately never landed in Erie... the plane almost crashed and were re-directed and landed in Washington DC....... however that ended up not being the worst of my flight... I never made it home and had a terrible time getting back to Pensacola. If you're planning on flying and have booked with American... cancel it and choose another option.

Hi Marcus! Your story doesn’t surprise at all with AA. I had a similar experience at Charlotte airport. Had to spend a long hard night at that airport. It was aweful. I’m so sorry you had this happen. 😟

I'm sorry you had this experience. My son works for AA and a lot of the problems are low staffing due to the Covid-19 mandate. I fly stand-by and just got back Monday from TX with no incidents. I only made my flight by 6 minutes when I left with no problems. AA is so understaffed and the employees are so overworked and not treated nicely by the company that this is what happens. I have flown probably 6 times in the last 3 years with no problems, but I do agree that need to fix their problems.✌❤

the fact the company can't be honest about that and rather claims "weather delays" is really shady.... I get it though.. if they claim no staff showed up then customers are to be compt hotels and meals...... which who wants to do that...

I hate to hear that. Before retirement I was a supervisor with DELTA over 20 yrs. All those rules you spoke of could been broke due to passenger hardship. So sad and your such a good person. Then after you got back home I would of refunded your ticket 🎟 💰

They wouldn't even refund the two tickets I had for my original flight back... they offered me vouchers... but I didn't want them as I have no desire to fly with AA again. Stole my $$ and my Christmas

I’m glad you made it home safe. You should write a review and also write to American Airlines. They should give you your money back. That’s insane. I don’t fly American. Now we just do road trips. ROAD TRIPS ROCK!✌🏻❤️🙂🙏

I contacted them and all they would give me were vouchers... which I didn't want as I will never fly with them again. Did however submit a report to the DOT. Doubt American Airlines would read an email I send them, they can hardly take care of me in person.

I can’t do layovers. I’m scared enough to get on a plane to begin with. I used to visit friends in Florida every 6 months and I had to have my ticket a month in advance. I only had 1 night flight in all the years I flew. It started beautifully. The pilot was ever personable. He pointed out City lights, baseball game in Atlanta, a navy ship with the water behind it looking like a feather. Each time he got clearance to turn the plane so the opposite side could look. New York City was beautiful as we descended. Then Long Island is a blanket of fog. The pilot said they didn’t make him aware of the fog. He had to use his instrument panel to land. He sounded fine about it. I was freaking because I like to watch outside as we land. It didn’t fell to me like we had slowed much. And I could feel the rapid descent. Just as I could make out the runway lights which we were well passed the plane took off for the sky again. The pilot said we came in to fast and we are circling around for another attempt at landing. His voice cracked with every word. I could swear he was crying too. My head was pounding along with my sinuses. We circled two times. I saw a tower in the distance on my side we passed it twice. On the descent I felt the plane slowdown. I grabbed the armed prayed in my head and watched out the window. When the wheels touched down all I heard was a deep sigh in unison from the entire plane. When the plane stopped that’s when the applause began. In My head I was screaming “get me the eff off this plane” Nobody moved and I was ready to climb over people.

Post your video on ALL American Airlines social media sites. Demand a call back from a Manager and advise them you are contacting DOT. You want a REFUND NOT VOUCHER. Believe me NO AIRLINE wants a DOT complaint So sad !!!

Imagine hitting turbulance in the sky.. but this time you hit it 10 feet off the ground trying to land... and then the pilot turns the engines back on full throttle... it was a I'm not gonna fly for quite some time moment... but yes... we had no idea where we were going...
