You can also achieve the level 3-5 insanity without eating the cursed dish. Just find the 'secret place' in the Akursius Keep. I remember getting jumped and frustrated upon the ill fated discovery of such place.

Nothing new, i've been selling insanity stews and pies among people in my clan for some quick galleons when i need to repair a ship

I made food which gave Insanity 2 once and it just killed me and all my friends, we ate it at Ravenna and DIED. Insanity 3 is meant to have other, normal-ish effects that DON'T kill you and also are a bit lore-based by this point. It's possible and even likely that Insanity 2 and above has received a change that gives a random chance for you to just start taking damage.

However if you wish to go search for the confirmed mimhere island you need insanity food to survive in the dark seas. Suggested food would be pies with cursed shrooms in it

Dunno man having a ping spike that lasts 30 mins and going into the dark sea to find mimhere sounds really good when you consider insanity can't do anything to ping spikers

Pretty sure the Insanity 2+ damage is a bug (I think it should only kill at Insanity 5 or maybe 4)
