I doubt that people who are f2p or light spenders will ever rather buy dupes from the shop rather than more chances for a new shiny character from the limited banner with the exceptions being favorite characters but even then, I still think that getting limited pulls with the coral is the best thing to do, unless of course they make getting duplicates super overpowered, which would suck.

I mean everything the guy said on the video is useful knowledge to know about the game if you want to maximise how you use certain currencies. But at the same time everyone's allowed to play the game their own way. So try not to be so negative about how other people want to play the game, yeah?

Here’s the thing though, duplicates are simply not worth the same as getting new characters, ESPECIALLY in the early game. It’s much better to get those pulls, get more characters, then once you have a good amount of characters you can go for copies. Also, using astrite on the standard weapon banner is perfectly fine. The standard weapon banner is the only way to get those weapons (since there is no 50/50 on limited weapon banner), AND you’re able to pick which weapon you get. Sure you get lustrous tides from the game normally, but if you want the standard 5 star weapons, go for it.

Honestly though, spending afterglow coral on more tides isn't really the end of the world. Currently, you can buy duplicates for the equivalent of 45 tides, which not only builds your pity towards the next 5 star, but also gets 4+ 4 stars. As long as you _really don't care whether you get duplicates of the banner character (this is important!)_ it's not a terrible decision to turn your coral into tides, since if you get a 5 star with it, great! You've either set up your guarantee for the next character or you got a duplicate for less corals than buying it from the shop _and_ got some other items from pulling. If you didn't get a 5 star, that's fine too because your goal wasn't to get a duplicate in the first place. All in all, there's no rules to what you can and can't spend your currency. Everyone plays the game for different reasons, so just be smart with your summons. If you're not sure what you want to do, sleep on it first and see how you feel the day after. And if you're still unsure, then don't pull; there will always be reruns if you change your mind.

EDIT: not necessarily. A lot of people will save their currency for a meta-breaking resonators (e.g: Acheron in HSR) that will be released in the future in order to guarantee free dupes. If you save your pulls wisely and follow leaks intelligently, It's likely that you'll save up enough pulls in the meantime to guarantee the character from the banner in the first place.

My point was that in the long run, it would be more beneficial to get dupes of your favorite DPS to improve your overall damage since the end game content caps out at 9 resonators. If you prefer to spend them on pulls and get more characters, you should definitely go for it. I'm just saying that the value of a guaranteed dupe is more beneficial than an extra 45 pulls which do not guarantee you a limited character let alone a 5*.

This is a basic knowledge, but worthy to know regardless! So excited to meet all the characters, especially the men (he he he).

This is just bad advice, sorry. The duplicates, especially of limited 5-stars, are really expensive. Don’t forget that the equivalent in pulls will get you more ‘refunds’ AND 4* units/weapons along the way. It’s really not worth it, imo, also because you can only get duplicates, so it’s a whale thing anyway. F2P’s and low spenders are better off spending this on (limited banner!) pulls.

Ok no, you're just commenting for the heck of it now. If you do the calculations, 270 coral divided by 8 ( you need 8 coral for 1 pull ) that's 34 pulls at best. But instead of these 34 pulls you can use the 270 corals to just guarantee a dupe of a 5star you have

I can argue against that point. As a f2p you want to maximize the units you manage to get; thus, saving the refund currency for duplicates of the 5 stars is game changing. Kakarot is already C1 for me thanks to the 2 novice banners and I plan on buying 2 more with the free currency because at C3 dude becomes broken (theoretically, I haven’t seen it in action yet), which will net me more pulls for the patches to come because I will be able to clear the hazard mode frequently and more efficiently. As a f2p players your pulls and character mats are limited, so having more units fast is really working against you. You either try to build them all and they all fall short of what you want, or you get them and they just sit because you don’t have enough mats to build them all. I do disagree with the CC saying don’t use asterite for standard pulls. If the character is going to make your team better, or you just really want them then I say use your asteroid for them regardless if it’s standard or not.

Can’t buy a duplicate saving Afterglow Coral if I don’t even get the character… anyways, I’m still figuring out my goal for the game. I saw the duplicates, I understood, but I’m more focused on at least one copy of the five star I want. And if I am able to, I will buy a duplicate. But it is unlikely. Edit: What I mean is that I would rather focus on getting characters I want rather than making my current characters stronger. I want them to be strong, but just strong enough to do what I need to. I will focus on getting the characters I want then making them strong. If that makes sense. Sorry.

I don't think using the afterglow coral on more pulls is that detrimental, especially for me who wants both jiyan and yinlin, after I've secured them tho, I agree that saving them should be the priority

I hate how I have all my meeting with a bunch of different school that will determine my future career in may, my final exams that will define my whole life in june, all the thing to learn and ready myself for, and the game that pop-up right in the middle of it all to f*ck me up and make me fail my life... And yet, I love it.

Did I wish I started some games earlier? Yes. But I was in postgrad school and I had to do what I had to do. I have no regrets.

Is pretty nuts about being able to get limited 5star "constellations" if you save enough. Game almost insentavises the player to save for patches. I'm saving a bit before I go for a limited unit.

Dupes are just a luxury, gacha pulls are legit the main point of the game. And also helps you get to the pity.

This was something I learned the hard way on Genshin. When I saw wavebands for limited five stars in the shop, I was like "Ain't NO way."

With experiencing it myself, even if the tip is kinda outdated, you can use the blue corals to buy the pulls because the corals to buy character dupes are different from the other one

If you're a beginner and you've done these things and feel anxious over it now, it's FINE. Your account isn't "ruined". You will get plenty more of all these resources.

ignore any of these "dont do this in wuthering waves" it wont ruin your account, play as you wish to nothing with ruin your account, stuff may set you back a bit but it wont make ur account useless or invalid

As a veteran genshin player I can safely say that characters don't matter in the end. Even if you make all these mistakes. Just play the game often and everything will be fine eventually. Characters also will be rerun. They won't be gone for ever. And you will get unlimited asterite over the years of doing events. Especially if kuro remains more generous than hoyoverse.

It's more important to pull more characters so you can make at least one strong team (tower actually needs three teams). So, buying duplicates for corals is awfully wrong in the beginning.

Gettings duplicated in endgame is better coz until then your most resonators would be R6 (c6 for genshin players). But in early games, you can get multiple constellations of 4 star characters, so it's better not to save for those duplicates. Sure you can buy them after you get multiple 4 stars

You need to get multiple wavebands to make it worth usually. C1 is usually a QOL buff or like 10% dps increase at most

After doing some quick math, you would need 480 pulls to get a waveband of a character you already have. I don’t want wavebands though. I want new characters.

You get a Guaranteed Baizhi if you do one 10-pull on the standard. Although it might be a single pull, lemme check.

After the beginner banner all standard banner pulls should be used on the weapon banner. You have a choice 5*, you have a 50 pull 5* and a select. Additionally you get them from losing 50/50s. Other than the beginner banner always spend on the weapon banner. I'd argue with the free ticket 5* that requires no pulls that after the 50 pulls random 5* never touch the beginner or standard character banner. Weapons are really important.

The problems with getting dupes is that you will get them if you lose your 50/50.

The problem with min maxing your account is it takes the fun out. People said “don’t pull on standard banners” in Genshin but I spent $500 on the standard banner cause I wanted Jean and Keqing , the odds of me pulling them on a limited at the time were worse because of the extra 5* and the increased chance for that 5* . Point is , at the end of the day if you play a gacha figure out what characters you like or want to play and just have fun. I mean, the best would be to not spend your asterite, even if you don't want the current event character. But nobody is going to stop you from spending it in the standard banner (besides, it's possible you could lose the 5050 to the character you want, so you'll still have a chance to get the standard character you want)

These are preferences, not tips. And not following them won't "ruin your account." If you already have a 5 star you really like and really want to increase it's rank, then use coral on wavebands. If you don't care about ranking anyone up but there's a shiny new character coming out that you really want, use coral on it's banner currency. Asterite should be used the same way. Go for what looks FUN. Because it's a video game.

Actually, do spend on *weapon standard banner* whenever possible as it's guaranteed to give us 5* weapon *of our own choice* . It's better than waiting for UL 45.

Read the banners description before you pull. The limited event banner has all the characters from the standard banner. So when you loose youll be getting them anyway! Win/win!
