This is a good point, but I have a different opinion. I came to the UK in Sep 2021 and started applying for a sponsored job off the bat. But I could not get an interview even after clearing the online rounds with a 100% score. As soon as I started applying by telling the companies that I would work with a PSW, I started getting interview calls, and finally, I landed a job. It took me 9 months to do this. Guys, the financial part and the extra 2 years mentioned are factually correct but please also note that the PSW was introduced for a reason. Not everyone gets a sponsored job right off the bat (minimum for freshers). And if you want an ILR or citizenship in the UK, you are running a marathon and not a race. Be patient and don't think of PSW as a negative thing. But yeah, I support that always looking for a sponsored job first. Cheers!

2 year PSW visa doesn’t count towards 5 years settlement route but it does count towards 10 years long settlement route.

Are you sure that the PWS won't count to get a PR? even if you worked with the PWS?

Excellent video Jashan. WIth 2 years extra as PSW, it just makes students lazy and they tend to lose focus by thinking "abhi toh 2 years pade hai". PSW should always be treated as back up.

Hi, I am here in UK only (sept 2021 intake) and I have started applying for the jobs etc, and what I have experienced is that majority of the companies are not willing to give worker's visa (only a few companies, very less in number are offering PSW). They are like you take PSW and then afterwards we will sponsor you. So, we are not left with much option other than that of taking the PSW. Any suggestion on this would be much appreciated!

Will an employer favour a local British applicant or a foreigner applicant with the same degree? A British applicant. So foreigner applicants have very low chances of getting PR but still chances are there.

One point is that the PSW allows you to change jobs. On a skilled worker visa you are a slave to the company. If you want to improve your job prospects PSW is good.

Exactly what I tell people. They sign contract and don’t know what it entails. I feel those 2years on PSW should be used grow your prospects or venture into business (if you are business oriented)
