Hey I am sponsored by Turso, an edge database. I think they are pretty neet. Give them a try for free and if you want you can get a decent amount off (the free tier is the best (better than planetscale or any other))

I 420% agree with that, try to do something you think you can't do. For me it was writing a compiler. Did it take me 5 years to reach feature completeness after 2 complete rewrites? Yes, but I've learned so much and became a better developer. It was worth every year.

At my student dorm back in the day, we would do beer coding challenges! Every time you run or compile, you have to take a sip... If it didn't compile due to syntax errors, you had to empty the beer bottle! The more mistakes you make, the more you drink! The more you drink, the more mistakes you make... It's basically an endless while loop of hilarious failures... PS: _Just be responsible and know when to stop drinking in time!_ _Me myself has never been sick from drinking to much in my life, I've never puked from intoxication, etc!_ _Meaning, I actually remember the fun I had!_ :-)
Stumbled upon your content while preparing for my Netflix interview, and it really motivated me to think like a Netflix engineer. You've quickly become one of my favorite KZreadrs! Love the content. The Balmer Peak is real... to an extent. Kava does it, phenibut does it, large doses of raw cacao does it. It can catastrophically backfire if you don't set the intention well before beginning however, and if you try to do it repeatedly.

I built a flutter webrtc demo for my computer networks presentation in college. Even though I mostly coppy pasted and used a package so lots of abstraction the protocol is magical. Will definitely reinevent the wheel for it in a lower lvl lang in thr future when I'm a better programmer

Yeah, as someone who is doing their first binary parsing thing I 100% agree it gives you a different level of understanding things. (Parsing git files btw.)
@y00t00b3r

why do you need to parse binary in git files? I just set the compression to "none", and then I can just parse plain text.

Today I built in Golang an Internal Library for having a global time.Now() I could easily fake in my unit test but also through a golang tag build that beings me in application runtime and UNIX Socket powered by a json rpc v2 API to control from my end to end tester to finally control time in my tests. (By the way my tester are powered by Nix VM Tester). Did I drink ? No ! Did I ever drink in my life ? No ! Do I enjoy making this ? Yes and it’s works perfectly xD

He cooked and still ended up with json. That's like me harvesting crops in my yard (and also some in my neighbors') just to eat a Big Mac. Side note: I don't know how web-based TTRPGs work, but couldn't he have just hosted it locally then tunneled it through Cloudflare? Although I guess that wouldn't be much of a challenge.
@assassinduke1

yes, i could of done that, but cloudflare tunneling costs money and the plan for the app is to have many distributed instances hosted at the players table and asking the client of an open source app to pay feels wrong to me.

I don't get the goal either. You still need a box to run your code. You still need aws. If the box is not the issue I don't see what the issue is. Use spring rest and port forwarding. I can make my computer serve the world with spring. The only issue is CORS (shocking), really. I still need a box and a legit cert though.
