DON'T BUY THIS! - Ulanzi Studio Desk Setup
Quick review of the Ulanzi Desk Studio Setup. I am on the search for a simple desk setup that doesn't take up a lot of space. I thought this would be the ticket, but it wasn't secure enough for my sony a7siii mirrorless camera. Not worth the money in my opinion. The ulanzi desk studio is flimsy and doesn't live up to what's advertised. Sent back and on to the next solution.

Thanks brotha. Ya dude this is a solid concept just needs to be a more solid build. There’s definitely some more expensive sturdier options out there, but I didn’t want to spend that much. Let me know if you come up with a good solution
I just ordered a TARION Desk Camera Mount Stand Heavy Duty. Really hoping it's sturdy.

@@DrewTooley I just got it today. It seems sturdy enough (so far) but I don't recommend it. It's not steel as advertised. It's mostly aluminum with some plastic parts. Setup took about 5 minutes.

LOL! Awesome review!!! Over the course of a few years I have slowly built a system using Wali monitor desk mounts and laptop trays. For my overhead I use an Impact friction arm attached to one of the monitor poles with a Super Clamp (a monitor arm would be a lot cheaper solution). I originally got the idea for my set up from the DSLR Video Shooter. That being said, I don't think you are ever going to get a no shake system unless you mount it some place other than the desk you are working on.

I came back to read your reply and watched your video again. Still hilarious! After watching again, that things is super wobbly. Far more unstable than I realized before.@@DrewTooley
Mine is nowhere near as shaky and unstable as yours seems to be, you had to have been doing something wrong if the item wasn't defective.

Hmmmm don’t think so. I just don’t think it’s made for cameras. Mobile phones probably work ok, but definitely not worth the money on this one. Better options out there in my opinion.

Best solutions I have are a cstand or my most recent is the neewer overhead camera rig. amzn.to/4bsO3vP I think having the two clamp support is key for a desk setup.

I have researched the Elva to system as well but my concern there was the weight of the camera and accessories attached being too much. I don’t think it would work well for my setup. I think best solution is something that has support on both sides of the desk or a c-Stand.

@@DrewTooley as someone who ordered the Elgato L Arm and extensions I can confirm it CANNOT hold an a7CII with Tamron 28-75 G2. Specific, but the a7CII is also a travel sized nitro less camera soooooo It can hold my iPhone though. 🤷🏻♂️
What about just using a magic arm... manfrotto is pretty awesome, expensive yes, but heard great things about it... I haven’t used Manfrotto but I have a cheap 3rd party rip off coming from China (arriving soon-ish... I hope). I’m sure those magic arms are all the same-ish... we’ll see.

The magic arm is great and works really well, but I am looking for a solution that can be stationed to this desk as a top down camera rig and a normal view. I have a C-Stand that works for all this too, but a little bulky and in the way for this particular space. It was also an excuse to review and make a video on this product :)
