I'm glad that when I first saw this advertised, it wasn't as a paintball mask, but I can see how many people would buy into that. Great video and demonstration of how much it's best for just costumes.

One player modded it and had actual paintball goggles underneath, it was siiick! There is another issue to, a lot of player use airsoft rated goggles to play paintball. Some of them won't resist the impact of a paintball

@@defconpaintball they also go in with that mesh for airsoft that covers your mouth and then they use a bandana and then when they get hit in the mouth they still get end up getting hurt so yeah you guys are right they need to stop trying to buy these types of masks

@@iammaine4035 if you bought it for airsoft and you play airsoft I'm guessing it's good if not you have to get with the owners of the field to see if it's actually safe to use because I know airsoft them babies can go pretty damn fast

I got this mask for airsoft and its held up for 6 months so far. Took alot of face shots. Only thing I changed about it was adding metal mesh under the lenses. She scratched to hell but works awesome.

Guy came to my local field with this mask ready to play but uses a dye dam with a box rotor..i couldnt fathom the logic that was used in purchasing the mask..they didnt let him on the field btw

I'm thinking about getting one for a Marvel Taskmaster cosplay.

These types of masks were made for airsoft basically just something to protect your eyes and prevent your face from feeling the sting of a plastic BB I usually just wear a bandana and safety glasses...but yea a marble size paintball is a totally different thing. I would not use this for paintball

I bought one recently but I plan to cut it up and turn it into a half mask for wearing out and about cause I want to wear something cooler than the lame blue masks all the time. Got EVA foam and bunch of other things to spice it up lol but do people really think that would keep them safe from a paintball. I’ve never played paintball in my life (closest thing I’ve done is use simunition while in the military) but I feel like it’d be common sense something this flimsy wouldn’t protect you. It’s literally just thin plastic with some foam around the eyes 🤣

All though it has no ear protection, would it be a decent air soft mask?

What if I want to use it as a cool mask??

I just bought this mask for airsoft and amazon strait up said it was ANSI Z80.3 certified. paintballs a different story but it should be good for airsoft at least?

At best, it could be used for airsoft. But with how fragile it appears, it may not even hold up there. Very useful and educational video. Will share with anyone who considers buying a wish mask.

@Defcon Paintball Gear you should consider putting the name "Skull Messenger" or another product descriptor in the title so consumers who are looking for reviews on these masks or "Paintball Skull Masks" will find this and avoid a poor purchase. Your video does not show up for people searching for "Paintball Skull Mask". However, there are lots of poorly informed videos RECOMMENDING these masks. As someone who worked at a field for 10 years, I know the struggle. I had to tell many edgy teens these were not acceptable, and they were almost always angry and accused us of running a racket. I did laugh a little too much at the maskuerade pun. Keep up the great content!

Use this with my microDot motorcycle helmet. Works great when riding bike!

I have one like this from Amazon, I’ve been using it for months and taken multiple direct shots to the eye with FS at close range. As well as tested it myself. Mine is a paintball rated single lense bolted in, the problem here is not unique looking masks it’s knock off wish masks. Also got it approved by an event organizer who used to approve new masks professionally.

I think it might be great, lemme explain, I know these masks are advertised as "paintball / airsoft" and I think it can be absolutely awesome on airsoft, as paintball is stronger sometimes, thhe paint splashes and then there's the risk of the eyes popping, yes, I understand. But for airsoft the meshes aren't too big for the bbs to enter, the goggles (I bought this mask) can survive many bbs, maybe scratch or two over a while. I do understand that it might be frustrating for a paintballer, but I think this is better for airsoft

I honestly bought this and I personally aprove but only for like if you wanna do a nice costume or something.. or if you have a deathwish or AT LEAST wanna feel incredible pain in paintball

I obviously knew that this thing sucked for paintball but I only ordered it and cut it at the top of the nose, and the temples and now it serves as decoration on top of my covid mask xD looks dope like that

I used to see this on amazon all the time. Thought it looked cool, but even me who knows nothing about paintball or regulations knew this would offer next to no protection, like worse than those Nerf rival masks.

@@AndrewFredHartman as long as you dont modify the actual mask underneath, refs should be fine with it. as for what mask might work, best bet is probably a dye i4, i5, or virtue vio.
