Thanks Big Cell for your follow-up. I installed mines on Saturday and played around with it Sunday. Apple Car Play have better features than Android Auto but you can't go wrong with either. You can also access XM Radio through the app. And speaking of rain......... I got caught in it on the way home tonight from work tonight on I-20 for about 20 miles and radio worked flawlessly. Wiped it down and kept it pushing.

Great video I am so glad you mentioned that you had trouble with the Sony. I feel like I got burned doing this install on my buddy's bike with that Sony and it failed just after one rain storm. Thanks again for making this video and demoing the radio with both features Apple carplay and Android auto.

Great review I've been using sound stream products for a while now and have been pleased Workman ship and customer support looks like they've hit a home run .again great job putting it to the test keep reviewing products that you think we may be interested in.

Thanks Big Cell for the review really like the video just had a couple more questions I have a 2017 RG and I still have that same factory radio and everything I’m not really looking into putting a Soundsystem in it but would love to update my head unit my two questions are I live in FL it rains a lot here when it says water resistant is it just as good as the factory one with it being water resistant plus I also wash my bike a lot and my second question is since I am updating the head unit do I have to also upgrade my charging system for this?

Android Auto did an update a few months back that added split screen to allow you to see Maps and music at the same time. Both Apple and Android are constantly making updates and improving their systems. Now that the SI is out I'm definitely considering getting that for my 2018 Road Glide. That one seems to solve all the short comings that I have with the plus.

Nicely done and with your review I'm pretty sure I'm going to upgrade at Biketoberfest. One question though FHO, on your wife's bike with the Android Auto do the handlebar controls still work to do some things? You were doing everything using the touch screen.

That a 2Din Radio my bike is a 2013 is there anything for a 1din ?

What's good cell. Man. I need to find a better radio for mine but it's a 05 so this won't work. But man mine takes way too long for Bluetooth to hook up.

Still waiting on the upgrade “Si” to come in. If you have this it’s probably not worth upgrading for just gauges. Same radio.

Did the radio work well with the factory speakers or did you have to change them and add a amp? I have a 2020 Ultra limited and I really can't stand how bad the GTS radio sounds. I found out that the equalizer on the radio was programmed a certain way from Harley-Davidson and it's nothing really you can do about it except for reflashing for amps and speakers or doing what you did.

Sir, Thanks for the video info. My ? for you is can you communicate via a head set with other headsets. for example I had to add a WHIM module to use my Harley Sena and eliminate the ridiculous stock helmet cord that came with my ultra. or do I need to get a WHIM for this radio also ? thank you .

I have the Sony 7000 still love it but have been having problems with the carplay disconnecting. I have to unplug and replug the apple lightning cord from the Iphone to reconnect. Did you ever have that problem?

I have the sound stream on my 13 Electra Glide. Love it. But they are expensive. The install is VERY simple to do yourself tho. Take less than 30 mins. Plug and play.

my buddy I bought my 17 sg off of installed a Rockford fosgate amp and speakers, this shouldn’t interfere hooking up will it?. That head unit is awesome I can’t stand my stock one. Harley’s maps absolutely suck

What speakers are you running soundstream gets $500 a piece for theirs. My 2014 street glide radio and speakers blow I’m gonna upgrade this winter and run the led underbody lights and wiring while the fairing is off

Ur title scared me lol but it took off my GTS 6.5 for this simply for the sound quality. Couldn’t get no one to flash it right to go with my system. Got a 19 but didn’t have the engine temp or tire pressure so won’t lose much. Now if I can get FedEx to deliver. Bike been apart since the 17th waiting on my player. Wish I knew Chris had them I could have just rode up and picked it up

@@gafieboi23 The proper flash and dsp tune on the GTS is hard to beat. If you have the harley dealerships(boom audio) flash then it's not going to sound right. The soundz techno research flash is supposedly the better flat eq curve. With you having the DSR1 you can have a custom file emailed to your phone then upload it to the DSR1. Rockford Fosgate perfect tune app doesn't work to well with cheaper Android phones but works flawlessly on apple's IOS. You need an iPad or atleast a 7plus with current software update.

Sound stream was a real deal company back when they where made in America Folsom ca to be exact still has a few chrome Picasso amps and some exact speakers new in the box 6.5 and the 5.5 but now it’s all from chiner….wouldn’t trust em
