When I retired six years ago I bought a new ninja 650 KRT Performance. Still have it. It came with a tinted screen and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust. More recent models not as well appointed from new. As a young man I did the superbike thing and owned a fireblade and an R1 but old age and knee replacements forced me to look for something lighter and ergonomically more comfortable. High bars and footpegs that dont cause an excessive knee bend are better for me. At 5'8" I can comfortably flat foot both sides together so its reassuring when the old legs are a bit weaker. Performance is fine. Easily reaches 100 mph (track) cruising on fast roads will sit at 70 all day. Have toured to Scotland and Ireland. With rack and topbox and wife pillion. Lots of low down torque. Loses speed easily when closing throttle. The benefit of a parallel twin. Vibes not too bad. Standard seat gives a numb bum after s couple of hours. I am 12 stone. Comfort seat available I believe. I would recommend to a newer rider or like me an older person needing something light. I tried the new RE interceptor recently because I like the retro look but so heavy. No thanks. The ninja is not the most exciting bike at a bike meet but its been great for me. Ride safe folks.

I have a 2021 Ninja 650, and absolutely love the bike, I hadn’t ridden in over 20 years, but couldn’t decide what I wanted, and we happened to get this bike in at my shop with only 5500 km, (I live in Canada) I really had my mind set on the 401 svartpillen, but I started riding the Ninja and really love the low end torque and power for the freeways, I even gone on some longer rides, but being 188cm (6’2”) my knees tend to get a little sore after about an hour in the saddle and need to take a break. Other than that I really love this bike. I think I’m going to but a larger wind screen just to help with the wind on the highway, but other than that I’m good👍🏾. Great video love your content.

I bought one of these last year ( 2022 ) after getting off a Honda Super Blackbird 1100 and THIS bike suits me and my better half far better. I`m 5ft. 7ins. and the low seat height suits me plus the wider and thicker pillion seat suits her as well ( She`s 5ft. 9ins.). We got the Urban pack with the bike and the topbox is more than enough to carry our bits and pieces, wet gear, locks and puncture repair kit and such. I`ve been biking since 1975 and I`ve never had a bike that suits me so well, comfy, as fast as we need and great mileage - and NO, I don`t work for Kawasaki, lol.

Nice vid. I just passed my das with no experience at all. Done it in 3 days including CBT😳 I’ve always said I will never get a Kawasaki because as a kid my uncle had one and always used to think of I rode that I would die in 20 min on it. That was when I was 12. Now that I will be biking I’ve done my research for over a year now and there is no other bike I would buy that the 650. My reasons are styling, screen, twin led lights and not single, KRT colour, riding position, power ratio when accelerating, weight, seat comfort and most of all the seat height as I’m a midget. 5”7

I have enjoyed the vid. I am looking at buying a 650. I have an Honda ST1300 that has the same riding position. I have decided in my older age to get a lighter motorcycle and like the riding position of the 1300. So I am not a new rider just and older one that wants a sporty feel that is light and still do the speed limit without worrying about the power. I have been looking at many different bikes but the 650 is the one I keep coming back too. Again great vid I like seeing the back roads of Europe so I'll be looking for more vids.

Across the pond here. I bought the 2020 KRT. LOVE IT! The seat is comfy but after about an hour it's too soft. Might buy the aftermarket Kawasaki comfort seat or maybe a Sargent. Agree about hand numbness, but put on a set of Grip Puppies and it's basically gone. Plus better grip. Bought the factory tall windscreen. It's ok, but I'm 6', 180lbs, and the air is disruptive right above my visor. MRA deflector is a must have. What windscreen did you buy? I'm partial to Puig. The riding position IS more forward than the Z650. Z650 has slightly shorter wheelbase, much higher and closer bars to the rider. BUT, no wind protection for long rides, especially highway crunching. Same riding position as the MT-07. I owned a 2019. Ninja so much nicer. My mods - full Hindle Megaphone exhaust, Kawasaki tall windscreen, TFT Industries tail tidy with integrated tail and turn signals (with flasher relay swap), Hepco Becker C-Bow Royster side cases, front OES wheel sliders, and OES frame sliders. I think that's it. I did send the ECU out for a flash, blocked the O2 and PAIRS. If I were you, you should look into the Ninja 1000. So much more refined than the MT-10, and now it also has all the toys, including cruise control. Same TFT dash also, but more functionality. Don't put much stock in Yammie Noob. He's a bit of a twat. He goes back and forth with his opinions all the time. Sorry, time to go for a ride! Have a good one!

@@justashortride6943 I don't know about over there, but over here I sent the ECU out for a flash and he said they even have a flash for stock configuration that opens the bike up a lot. All you have is the Akrapovic slip-on, not a full system. You have the catalytic still. Opening it up gets rid of the 4krpm flat spot and gives you a smoother throttle all round. I had my neighborhood mechanic install the exhaust, block off the O2 and PAIRS, and re-install the ECU all at once. I usually just mail the parts out to them. I owned a 1st gen 2006 Ninja 650. The bike has come a long way. If you get a chance to test a newer Ninja 1000 I think you'll love it. I downsized from that to the 650. But now with cruise control I'm tempted. Nice casual review. Not much to dislike. My next mod with be installing the Ohlins front fork innards.

Been back to the dealer and they recon because the bike was lowered before I brought it thats the cause of the vibration as the chain was to tight. Refunding me today. This may be of use to anybody looking to lower the bike as it causes problems on the 650 ninja model.

Only use E5 regardless what others may say E10 will ruin your bike. A good friend of mine who is a clever soul separated the ethanol from the petrol. The 10% ethanol is absolute vile gunk and worse than that you are being charged fuel duty on the 10% of vile stuff that will ruin your engine.

True ethanol doesn't burn clean b/c it is derived from corn which is carbon 4 or "C4". It leaves black residue.
