This has been my policy for over 42 years since I started paying the BBC propaganda tax. But for the vast majority of that time I was criticised and told I was a criminal, and wrong - even by most self styled TV license activists advocating removing TVL/Capita’s implied rights of access. My advice has always been to just ignore the perverts. By the way, whilst the rest of the population was funding the BBC criminal, I saved over £6,000 in today’s money. 🧐😎😜

Someone rang my doorbell this morning at 9:30 and I was not expecting a call. If it was important, I would have known in advance or had a phone call, text or e-mail.

As a woman I'd be furious and scared if a man came to my home demanding information and access. It isn't safe.

That's the right way to do it no contact means no sale and no commission

Not TV licensing but cold callers on the telephone....used to make a game of it when my kids were little. Used to bet on how long I could keep someone on the telephone for. Think my record was about an hour and 20 mins.... Still waiting for a goon call, sure that I could beat a telephone call...

At least this goon actually read the page titled 'How to wear your mask correctly" Unlike most of the other ones we've seen recently. Score of 10/10 for the 'registered occupier'. I just had a knock at my door from a goon. As soon as be said he was from tv licensing I said NO THANKS and closed the door quietly. He zoomed off in his car. But still 30 minutes later I'm shaking from nerves.

10/10 Perfect. Laughable, the way the Goon knocks the door and then backs off as fast he can. Obviously experienced.

If you dont want your image recorded by the goons new type handheld device, thats the best option, leave them out there. They get your picture and cross reference it with social media and turn the heat up.

I have built a electric liquid ass sparyer at the door and it lets one hell of a stink off if they come to the door as i watch for them on cctv. can't hear it or see it but my god it works wonders on a few friends.

The correct course of action, but not quite as entertaining/satisfying as directly letting them know, via a vocal form of Foxtrot Oscar, that they're wasting their time. It's a shame there's no way of keeping them, 'on hold', like with telephone calls, where they have to listen to endless distorted muzak that's interrupted occasionally with, 'the occupant is presently busy. I had a house with 2 outside doors once . always answered the Knock by flanking them using the door they didn't knock on . freaks them out. you need to be imposing. not big. not young. just imposing to make it work. wrong foot the bastards. then play it by ear.

If i'm not expecting visitors i don't even peel myself off the sofa, even left a cousin outside in the rain knocking on the door.

When the goons rang my intercom I answered and said "I'm not interested thanks", he said "it don't work like that,,", I said "yes it does because you have a much power to tell me to answer my door as the fridge repair man, BBYYYEEEE", AND HUNG UP.

If someone approached my house covering his face I would find that VERY suspicious. I might be inclined to call the police. It's weird....

In my 30s, never had a TVL and never will. Unless we expect someone at the door, the door is not answered. Had 2 goon visits - May 2015 and May 2023. Both ignored. Simple, effective.

In this day and age the license fee is essentially a subscription model and should be treated like one. If you have a license then you can watch bbc channels and radio. If you don’t have one then you don’t watch. Simples.

Zero. If their not in it cannot count. Another call will be scheduled for another visit just like blanking the letters. Answer the door and say no license is required it goes down as that and you will be saved another visit for a while. I know someone who did not answer the door and they got a call a week for three weeks. Once they answered and said "Sorry no license is required here," they have not had another call, or a letter come to that, for six months.
