The place is a Historical Site.
There were 13 windmills in the Calderico hill, today they remain 12. The "giants" of Cervantes no longer grind wheat, now they have tourist use with names from the book "Don Quixote de la Mancha" (1.605), they are the following: Clavileño, Espartero, Rucio, Caballero del Verde Gabán (Restaurant), Chispas, Alcancía, Cardeño, Vista Alegre, Sancho, Mochilas, Mambrino and Bolero (Municipal Tourist Office). Built in the first half of the 19th century. Bolero keeps all its machinery and can be visited.
The castle was built from the mid-tenth century during the time of the Caliphate of Cordoba until the mid-thirteenth century by the Knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. He changed hands between Muslims and Christians sometimes as a dowry and sometimes for war. Destroyed during the French occupation in 1813 it is currently recovered by 50%. Highly recommended.
