I was a brand new older Christian. I left a dark and sinful lifestyle, i went camping by myself down to the Outer Banks. On that Sunday, I walked into a tiny little church with only about 15 people and they sang this hymn. It has been my call to action ever since. That was 40 years ago. Truly without trust and obedience, we saints cannot, will not walk in victory, joy and peace , Amen

I was being baptized in the Sandy River, when I emerged from the water the faithful few were singing this song. That was in 1955 and it still resounds in my spirit.

This song heals me.. My pain when I feel I lost n down.. When I feel there's no way.. I closed my eyes n always remember to hymm this song. Trust and obey. Everything will be alright....in the Name of Jesus Amen.

I started listening to Don Moen’s worship in 2003 in Sierra Leone. And two decades later, I still come back to his songs! My favorites ones include “Our Father”, and “ He never Sleeps.” Don is an inspiration and a change maker. Thank you for your contribution to worship.

I was 12 or 13 years old when I first heard this song and it was also the first song that I learned playing using my basic keyboards. Now that I am a little older, this song still speaks into my soul and refreshes my spirit. Also, it brings me back to the times when I first encounter the Lord, my first love.. :)

If you haven't been obeying and are Now going to strive to, than you shouldn't be "calmed". The Holy Spirit of God does not calm people in their disobedience, but precisely He stirs them to be broken and bothered until they confess and Repent that they weren't obeying but will Now turn from the disobedience and now Obey. It is so often a most offensive method of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit that man feels better or is confirmed amidst sin, rather than only as God gives man these feelings or confirmations. That is...After confession and repentance. The Holy Spirit is the one in the Godhead as "Helper", the worker in men's hearts moment by moment and thought by thought. And the Holy Spirit is not a lazy or derelict or anything but Completely perfect worker. Unlike men who work with fallible and ignorant and poor efforts. Men led and stirred by the Holy Spirit rightly in confession and repentance, do so precisely and with specific Pre and Post Holy Spirit conviction conditions of their heart. Not a making light or omitting especially the Pre condition, which is the tendency of the Flesh to make light of sin and move fast to the blessed/fun side of being led by the Holy Spirit. We must stop Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit in this way.

But it's God who justifies the ungodly you can not justify yourself by being Good enough or performance for example and the Word of God confirms your security everlasting life appointed to heaven with God to the saved Because God cannot Lie Trust him. What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:30-31). Religion tells you to do something, God says his Son did it all, believe on him.

Always loved this chorus at Sunday school when I was too young to read and learn the verses. And the missing verse too: 'But we never will prove The delights of his love Until all on the altar we lay. For the favour he shows And the joy he bestows Are for those who will trust and obey.' Also, the building reminds me of the church I grew up in. Built to a tight budget in the 1970s. It has brick walls in exactly that pattern. Never was a thing of beauty. But God is good.
