Then realised that he sang this as a "love song" to the Queen, on the King's behalf... He did not depict a predator or seducer, just a genuine love song. Here's an idea. Forget the ghastly sets and the abusive stage direction, and let's just have the singers, on stage with minimal sets, just like this - so , half a million view in just three weeks! NOT "minimalist, angular communist nonsense," but the bare minimum in terms of requisite furniture and depictions of windows. In fact, don't even bother with that. Just put "THE VOICE" on Stage with the great cast and musicians - and conductor Stutzman certainly knows how to bring the best out of her singers... Hove will never direct one of my dramas - not after the evil he imposed on Don G... see the excerpt titled "Peter Mattei - Don Giovanni - Finale: Gia la mensa..." You see, you don't GO to the Met to see that level of ugly...it's "WAITING FOR YOU" on the NY Subway at the Lincoln Center stop when you leave, with glorious arias soaring in your mind and then... you step into the subway and ... Inferno! Now, back to Peter, "Andiam!!!"
